Blood was not required to make it so, it was an added piece, for those who required it.

It was certainly not required. The whole sacrifice and bloodletting was the creation of the law, the creation of the human. God was not limited to this expression. That somehow, the created blood, and the loss of it made some divine act. It is all created molecules, physical energy, transports oxygen and nutrients, but is easily overcome by The Spirit as Jesus expressed in healings and faith confirmation, water to wine, The Centurion, healings, Lazarus, many others, even the disciples, The Various Women, and The Various Men healed, changed, in Scripture.

So why the drama of the crucifixion? Why such a situation? Why sacrifice of blood and body that is legend, and has no real or required action from God. Or really even God in this natural reality.

Why do we need BLOOD to believe? What is the point?

Isn’t trust in God enough?

Other than God simply humoring US, that some death, or bloodletting , was necessary for exchange, or some type of death for life, but is not necessary. The fig leaves were not necessary Ultimately, The Blood is a vehicle to trust. The Blood itself does nothing except to provide a perceived pathway to trust.

One can have trust without bloodletting. Blood is an option, we are not required to have blood let to believe in God’s love. It is our choice, do we need blood to believe in atonement , to believe and trust God. We do not need it, we choose to put that as a requirement, a demand, that God complied with, as a gesture to that specific culture for understanding, Bloodletting is NOT a universal requirement for TRUTH.

If everything Jesus said is true, and there was no crucifixion, would any of us believe any less? If so, why? If Jesus lived for 50 , 100, 200 years, would anything in our belief change? If Jesus died a ‘natural’ death or an ‘accidental’ death and got back up for a bit, to show death was not final, would we doubt God’s Love and Grace?

For some crazy reason, people of that time needed blood, and maybe people today do as well, but the Blood does not make or break God, the Passion Play was expressed for our need of drama, NOT for the expression of who God is. David even knew this – Obedience is better, stronger, more real, than sacrifice.

God is not contained in a box, even the box of Blood.

Only Believe.Erikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09639126458428187942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96114027914038785.post-51588558947895557642009-11-10T18:13:01.968-05:002009-11-10T18:13:01.968-05:00v. 45 "At one point, the darkness became so t...v. 45 "At one point, the darkness became so thick that it seemed as though the sun had stopped shining. (thank you Holy Spirit)

When I came here to the blog, the song "Lean on Me" was playing, and as I was thinking of leaning on God, I was also wondering if that song was on my blog...well, after I wrote here a moment ago, I was wondering if I had any comments on my blog, and as the page came up, I think you know what was playing... yep!.."Lean on Me"

I laughed and I smiled...so cool. Your blog has 111 songs and mine 40. It so reminded me to lean on Jesus today...as if God is saying, which I believe He is..."Lean on Me" You're tired, you're frustrated, feeling bent out of shape, but just lean on Me.

With your post here it also makes me think of Simon of Cyrene, who comes on the scene, and his actions speak to Christ..."lean on me, I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on..."

So I go forward into my day now with God saying "Lean on Me"...and I say yes, Lord, what a fellowship, what a joy divine, "Leaning on Your Everlasting Arms."karl cobosnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96114027914038785.post-41170973011743941182009-11-10T08:07:41.460-05:002009-11-10T08:07:41.460-05:00Good morning Bishop and flock.
