Come, the New Jerusalem!

Yesterday Avatar asked where the BLOGINTHENOW picture (left) was taken, and the answer was that I was standing in the (dry) Pool of Bethesda in Old Jerusalem. Today I’ve replaced that picture with the one above, taken in front of the Dome of the Rock (formerly known as the Mosque of Omar), arguably the ultimate symbol of the impasse that religion can (and typically does) create between people...one of the most intense places on the planet. Usually, I smile in pictures, but I'm not smiling here for a reason.

Under the Jordanian rule of Jerusalem, Jews were at one time forbidden from entering the Old City. Israel took control of the Dome of Rock during its victory in the Six-Day War in 1967. According to a posthumously-published interview with Haaretz, General Uzi Narkiss reported that on June 7, 1967, a few hours after East Jerusalem fell into Israeli hands, Rabbi Shlomo Goren had told him "Now is the time to put 100 kilograms of explosives into the Mosque of Omar so that we may rid ourselves of it once and for all." His request was denied; according to Goren's aide Menahem Hacohen, he had not suggested blowing up the mosque, but had merely stated that "if, during the course of the war a bomb had fallen on the mosque and it would have – you know – disappeared – that would have been a good thing." Later that year, in a speech to a military convention, he added: "Certainly we should have blown it up. It is a tragedy for generations that we did not do so. […] I myself would have gone up there and wiped it off the ground completely so that there was no trace that there was ever a Mosque of Omar there." Shlomo Goren also entered the Dome of the Rock with a Torah book and the shofar.

A few hours after the Israeli flag was hoisted over the Dome of the Rock in 1967, at the conclusion of the Six-Day War, Israelis lowered it on the orders of General Moshe Dayan, and invested the Muslim Waqf (religious trust) with the authority to manage the Temple Mount-Haram al-Sharif in order to "keep the peace". Groups such as the Temple Mount and Eretz Yisrael Faithful Movement wish to relocate the Dome to Mecca and replace it with a Third Temple. Since Muslims consider the ground under the Dome to be sacred this would be a highly contentious move, and would provoke violence. The majority of Israelis also do not share the movement's wishes. Most religious Jews feel that the Temple should only be rebuilt in the messianic era, and it is their belief that it would be presumptuous of people to force God's hand. However, some Evangelical Christians consider this a prerequisite to Armageddon and the Second Coming of Jesus. This view is steeped in the belief that there will be a prophetic rebuilding of the Temple in place of the Dome of the Rock.

Actually, I’m not smiling in the picture for several reasons, and I’ll share those reasons this coming Sunday as I present a little pictoral tour of our trip to Israel/Palestine. I’ll also reference each of the theological viewpoints mentioned above. I’ll have a good, inspiring word for you (it’s Father’s Day), but I believe that you’ll also learn some things from the information that I will share with you that will, at the very least, help you know how to pray for the current situation in our world. I’ll even adress Barack Obama’s visit to AIPAC this week.

It’s going to be a very powerful weekend…Kim Clement on Saturday night…my Father’s Day sermon on Sunday…and then Kim Clement again on Sunday night (both night services at 7 PM).

Today I’m going to give Pastor Ben Nadiope a little tour of Atlanta, particularly the King Center. I haven’t had a chance to spend a lot of time with him since he got here from Uganda, so I’m looking forward to that. By the way, several of you have asked about going to Uganda with me in Septmeber, and I’ll have some information about that for you, shortly. Also, as I mentioned yesterday, I’m planning on ministering for Bishop Tommy Smith in the Philippines in late October, and I’ll make that trip available for anyone who wants to go, as well.

Also, today I’m doing an interview with the publisher of Hope Today Magazine, which will be aired on Friday, July 11 on the Word Network and Streaming Faith and Daystar. I will appear inside the July/August issue of the magazine, which will be on newsstands the first of July.

And I want to say that I miss some of our regular bloggers (I won't mention any names)...maybe you're all on vacation. If not, then where is the love?

Stay cool today...

And walk in peace...part of the reality of the coming of the New Jerusalem is that it is built on the two basic truths of the gospel...LOVE GOD/LOVE OTHERS...peace with all men (even the religiously intolerant)...

more about this tomorrow...

Bishop:
WOW...The Dome of the Rock...it is such an incredibly complex place historically, politically and religously...an amazing site area of prayer, but no progress towards peace...yet...

I am in agreement with all of your prayers, actions, and petitions for peace and reconciliation among the nations, and particularly for the middle east; adding my voice to the beckoning call and anticipation of the New Jerusalem.

(To answer your question in yesterday's blog about the comment on Anticipation...yes, it is original.)

Rest easy,

Love & Peace is all we need!
The song’s playing right now is: WE GOT TO COME TOGETHER FOR THINGS TO BE ALL RIGHT!

Bishop, I am not going to lie to you. I am clueless about this story; the Dome of the Rock. I thank you for the enlightened and the education that comes with the package of being a member of CITN.

"COME, THE NEW JERUSALEM!"

Jesus asked us to be ONE CHURCH, ONE FAITH! If the Rebuilding of the New Jerusalem; cannot be Rebuild with Love, Peace, and Faith? Then we are not: MADE FOR HEAVEN. Not one in groups of two thousand. But One in One. One Church. One Faith. One Lord. Not Baptist, not Methodist, not Adventist. Just Christians. No Denominations, No Traditions. Just CHRIST.
Jesus prayed the Father on John 17:11-“Holy Father, keep them safe, protect them by the power of Your Name – the Name You gave Me – so that they may be one as We are One.” They are fighting to Rebuilds a New Temple. But Jesus said on John 18:36- “My Kingdom does not belong of this world.

Our Creator gave His life for us His creations, maybe all we need are a few hearts that are willing to stand on prayers for Love/Peace. Not only for Israel, but truly for God’s New Jerusalem can be built in our Hearts and Souls.

Again I say: “Let’s continue on PRAYING for Peace around the WHOLE WORLD!
On Ezekiel 22:30- “ The Lord said: I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.”
What about us? Can we stand in the gap for the Land? Can we build a bridge? Toss a rope? PRAY for ONENESS?

P.S. I will be taken a leave of absence from the Blog for a couple of days. I will miss you all!!!
Love k.

GOOD MORNING FROM MY DUTY POST. I HAVE NOT BLOGGED SINCE FRIDAY BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY HUSBAND LAND SAFELY IN NIGERIA. I AM GLAD I REQUESTED PRAYERS FOR HIM ON FRIDAY AND BISHOP LAID HIS HANDS ON HIM. HE MISSED HIS FLIGHT ON FRIDAY JUNE 6TH DUE TO NO FAULT OF HIS OWN BUT MISTAKE WITH HIS TICKET. UNDER 24HRS ANOTHER FIGHT WAS BOOKED FOR JUNE 7TH, SAT BY 7PM.IT WAS NOT GOING TO BE A DIRECT FLIGHT AS PLANNED BUT WILL REQUIRE A STOP OVER AT PARIS. THEN AS THEY WERE ABOUT TO TAKE OFF, THERE WAS TECHNICAL PROBLEMS WHICH CAUSED A LITTLE DAY. ON GETTING TO PARIS, THEIR CONNECTING FLIGHT WITH AIR FRANCE HAD LEFT THEM FOR NIGERIA. LOTS OF PEOLPE WERE STRANDED IN THE AIR PORT ON SUNDAY MORNING AND NO OTHER FLIGHT TILL MONDAY. THOSE WITH US PASSOPRT WERE PUT IN A VERY EXPENSIVE HOTEL, 1000 DOLLARS A NIGHT. THOSE WITHOUT US PASSPORT WERE LEFT TO SLEEP IN AN OPEN AIR PORT. BLESS GOD, MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE HOTEL. ON MONDAY MORNING, THEY CAME TO THE AIR PORT WAITED FOR THE 10 AM PLANE COMING FROM NIGERIA. THEN ANNOUNCEMENT CAME THAT THE PLANE IN NIGERIA WAS DELAYED DUE TO PROBLEMS. MY HUSBAND CALLED ME FROM PARIS AT 430AM ON MON WITH THE NEWS. I WOKE UP AND PRAYED GOD'S WILL TILL DAY BREAK. HE TOLD ME THAT IF I DID NOT HEAR FROM HIM BY 8AM MONDAY, HE HAS GONE. TO GOD BE THE GLORY I DID NOT HEAR FROM HIM. BY 1045 PM LAST NIGHT HE CALLED ME THAT HE HAS ARRIVED SAFETY IN NIGERIA TO THE OVERLY ANXIOUS FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAS BEEN WAITING FOR HIM SINCE FRI JUNE 6TH. ONE OF HIS BOX WAS CRUSHED BEYOUND RECOGNITION THAT THE CONTENT WAS WRAPPED WITH PAPER. THANK YOU ALL FOR PRAYING FOR HIM AND CALLING TO CHECK IF HE HAS TAKEN OFF. IT WAS BOTH A PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL BATTLE BUT THE PRAYERS OF THE INTERCESSORS IS MAKING A WAY IN THE MIDST OF DARKNESS. I AM GLAD THAT THE PRIEST OF THE MOST HIGH GOD LAID HIS HANDS ON HIM FOR JOURNEY MERCIES THERFORE THE PRIEST OF THE POWERS OF DARKNESS HAS NOTHING TO DO AGAIN. PLEASE CONTINUE TO LIFT HIM UP AS YOU REMEMBER HIM. HIS NAME IS EMMANUEL ODUAH.
I WILL BE BACK, ONE OF MY PATIENT NEEDS MY ATTENTION. LOVE MERCY.

Speaking from my paradigm, the issues mentioned in "Come, the New Jerusalem!" are of the greatest importance.

For now I am witholding comment so there will be no conflict in what may be an incomplete thought.

I am looking forward to Saturday and Sunday. These will shape my prayers of agreement for some time to come regarding a unified effort coming from CITN as led by the authority that has been placed over these ministries by the Holy Ghost.

For now, just know that we of like mind are ready to go forward under your command.

Mercy, please know that your husband, Emmanuel, is in my spirit and the Lord has gone before him and goodness and mercy will follow him. We corporately plead the blood of Jesus on Emmanuel and God Is presently with Him. Mercy, remember you are not only a seed of mercy but you are a harvest of Mercy, says the spirit of God. I speak Peace to your entire household, to your spirit and your entire being. There has already been an email requesting intercession for your husband's safety. You know that the fervent, effectual prayers of the righteous avail much! I also believe that the Lord is going to really really use Emmanuel on this journey to his home country. The Lord will return him to you and your children in 6 weeks. In Jesus mighty name we prayer!

Bishop, some of us have just changed names on the blog. You know that the only constant is God! The names are different but the spirit is eternal!, we are with you!

Haven't been able to do much blogging lately, I've been busier than a cat covering up,...well you know!
We've had some problems at work that would have probably killed the average man, but I'm handling it.

Ok, I have to admit, I'm with Kettley on this one. I just don't know that much about the history of those nations or their beliefs or why there is always so much chaos in the middle east... who owns what, boundary lines, etc, etc. And to be honest, I think part of the reason that I've never really bothered to study it stems from all the religious bunk. You know, the 'mess with Isreal and you're bound for the firey pit' theory, and 'wait till the far east enters the picture... better watch out.' When in fact, no one knows how things will play out; how could we? It's kind of
like avoiding the book of Revelation because you're scared of seven-headed dragons and symbols and imprints. The truth has a way of making you WANT to learn more. SOTB changed my view of the 'scary' book of the Bible. So, even though I may not get the politics and the insanity, and particularly the US's role in it, I'm quite interested to learn more about the history, as well as the current political climate in the middle east. Building bridges is a good thing... tearing them down, perhaps not so much.

Good afternoon BITN! I've been out of town for the past week being the wheels for some friends of mine who didn't have any and they don't have a computer (Thanks for not putting me on blast Bishop). But I've caught up on the blogs and will pray accordingly. The background of the Dome of the Rock reminds me on many aras in Spanish History from 700-1400 AD, because moqsues and cathedrals were destroyed and rebuilt based on who was winning (Kinda childish if you ask me, like kicking a kids sandcastle just so he'll move and you can make one, but "religion" is kinda childish itself). I pray the day will come when we can get past all this. On a much happier note, Bishop a few months ago you spoke favor on us with college admissions boards while I was in the process of applying to school for my EdS. I started with U of Georgia first, but wasn't accepted there. I had the favor, just for the wrong school. Well, I just found out today that I was accepted into Georgia Southern University's online Specialist Program for Fall 2008 semester!! Love and blessings to all

Good Afternoon BITN'ers! What a crazy week/weekend. I'm totally bummed that I missed Pastor Debye on Sunday and I will buy the cd this week. I look forward to gaining knowledge regarding the Middle East in an "easy to understand Bishop" kind of way. The only thing that I know truly about is what I have learned at CITN so....I'm pretty open minded when it comes to learning about other religions and beliefs. I don't know if anyone who sent up prayers for my Aunt the other day had an opportunity to flip back to the blog and see the miraculous healing, but THANK you for the prayers. WHOA!
I continue to get spammed from my "friend" who is convinced Obama is muslim. It's great that Bishop is covering my responses to her. lol. I just reply all with a copy and a paste from what has been written on this blog.I also include the website www.snopes.com

Paris in an $1,000.00 per night hotel sounds to me like FAVOR- However, I'm certainly glad he made his arrival safe.
Love to all- lhollow

I'm a new blogger, but I wanted Mercy and Ebony to know that I was glad to hear about their praise reports. I too like most are clueless to world news and happenings. But, I do know that a new Jerusalem is coming; whether we like it or not. Peace is coming, but we need to be patience and wait in prayer, while still looking and listerning to what God is saying to all of us. We all have a part to play in this New Jeruslem.

I pray for love, joy and PEACE.

To lhollow27: What is the purpose in learning about other religions and beliefs? Is this is what CITN is about? Are you all trying to be a melting pot for all the religions of the world. That seems contradictory to what Christ teaches.

This is posted on the wrong day, but we say AMEN to Bishop's report on the Roanoke trip that he posted yesterday! It was awe-mazing! The sold out table made our heads swim.

We spent several hours driving home through the mountains in silence, soaking it all in.
"Something's definitely a-comin' "

[apologies to Pastor Lee! It was there, we just had to say it :-)]

Hey Pastor Tommy and Ging!
This may seem like a weird question, but we heard that anything "plastic" is much appreciated in the Phillipines [storage containers, things to carry water]. Is that true? Is there something else better that we could tuck in our suitcases to leave with you? Blog more! You are loved here.

Pastor Debye, YOUR fire on Sunday translates on the cd. Listened in the car so I couldn't stand when you said stand--but I sure did in the spirit! I especially get the "words of your mouth" changes you mentioned. Led me to this thought: faith for life or faith for death--it all comes by hearing our own mouths.

responce to anonymous at 4:30 PM.

What is it that Christ teaches that would be contradictory to an open door policy for all peoples of all religions?

Is there some scripture that I am ignorant of where Christ says something to the effect, Daddy didn't really mean it when He said I was a gift of His love for the whole world?

Perhaps you might be willing to enlighten us on those teachings of Christ that stand contradictory to loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.

btw I love you and you are always welcome to worship Christ with me at CITN.

Hello again CITN. It's Scott from Dayton, Ohio once more. Thanks so much for all your doing to bring the great truths of God's word to his people. Your ministry is such a blessing to me and others as I share the news of your good works. I don't know if this is possible, but I'm writing this to make a petition that if at all possible one of the night services this weekend could be streamed on the web. If I didn’t have an obligation to my nursing program this weekend I would have driven down south to be with you all this weekend. I just know God has a word for us. Well praise God whether you can or cant, I just thought I'd ask. Well thanks again and continue in these good things. You’re reaching the world and helping lead this second reformation throughout it. It's happening now! On a side note, I know Kim Clement is close friends with Matt Crouch son of Paul and Jan Crouch. Does anyone know their (TBN) current opinion on our faith in God's plan of ultimate reconciliation? God bless ya'll.

Love,
Scott

To anon who asked if CITN's teaching is contradictory to Christ's.....Two commandments Jesus gave (really three)...Love God with all of your heart and love your neighbor as you love yourself....this is what CITN is to me....teaching me to love over ANY differences we may have. It is love that never fails and the goodness of the Lord that brings repentance. Shalom

Hey Gang! Hope y'all are having a great day today...even if it is hot as...oh wait...that's become a tourist attraction...hot as Georgia in summer!

lhollow27...I'm not trying to speak for you but I did want to respond to your anonymous poster...I hope that's ok with you Anon...I just wanted to say...No, CITN is not trying to become a "melting pot" of religions; however, I think most of us DO believe that mature believers can fellowship with each other and accept another's beliefs without breaking covenant with them. If you don't believe what I do, I am still going to love and accept you because that is exactly what Jesus taught us to do...Love and Accept ALL others. Jesus said, "They will know you by your love..." Bishop has said several times, "Love is All that matters"... To me, that is what CITN is about. If you would like more info on what CITN is about, please visit: www.churchinthenow.org
especially the 'FAQs' section as it has answers to many of the questions people may have about CITN.

I am very glad you have come here as it must mean that you are, indeed, a seeker of truth...Welcome, Seeker, and thank you so much for taking the time to blog. We appreciate you and invite you to come and experience CITN for yourself anytime. God bless you.

Jazzed to hear all the praise reports and about tomorrow's service and the coming weekend...hear the sound? There's a storm in the heavens...it's beginning to rain...and we're on FIRE! We have seen fire and we have seen rain...it's fun to see it coming together though!

Blessings Blog Fam!

Scott,
You can see both nights of Kim Clement on his website. He has broadcasted live since his Mt Carmel service. I drove down in May when he had to cancel so I couldn't go this weekend, but my mother has instructions to be there both nights because I know there is something there for me and she must be there since I will be streaming it. I have watched every service and it is getting better and better!

Scott from Dayton... Go to Kim's website kimclement.com and you can watch the services this weekend. As a side note, does it really matter who Kim is friend's with and what their belief's may or may not be... if the Prophet has the word of the Lord, who really cares what anyone (TBN or otherwise) else thinks! I'm more interested in what God has to say, not what man has to say!

Hey anonymous. This is an inquiry and not an argument. For my benefit, could you indicate how, based on scripture, learning about other religions is contradictory to what Christ taught? Thanks. I'm always wanting to know more about what Christ taught.

There is so much going on both inside and outside my head. I'm finding it very hard to write a comment without it sounding, for lack of a better term, "prophetic". I looked back at the last few comments I posted and for the most part, they seemed that way. I've since held back on posting because of this. I certainly, in no way, shape, or form, want to appear pretentious. That has never been my intent. There are just very strong vibrations emanating from the Spirit right now. So very much happening. So very much shifting. So very much changing.

Today's post is loaded with obvious as well as subliminal revelation. I love the history of the Dome. Suffice it to say; there are no plans among the Jews for a third temple, in spite of all the dispensational rhetoric. I'm not judging, I once hoped for the rebuilt edifice myself. I saw it as a literal event. But, I also saw the second coming as a literal event also. It all tied together.
Now, I see it as beautiful symbolism. I can see the whole series of events as something that happens within. Both individually and collectively.
Jerusalem means "city of peace". The oldest meaning though is from the Hebrew: Yerushalayim, literally meaning, "foundation of peace"
There is a "New Jerusalem" being laid. Laid in the hearts of those men and women, including you Bishop, who in unity, strive to find peaceful solutions to the conflicts and divisions infecting our world today.
On that foundation of peace, that New Jerusalem...a temple WILL be erected. In that temple...a throne. And upon that throne...the Prince of Peace, Universal Christ Consciousness itself ruling in love from the hearts of the peacemakers to the heart of the world.
What an awesome time to be alive! What a great thing to be a part of!

Oh Come, New Jerusalem.
Even so come, Prince of Peace.

I was thinking about how you mentioned that you intentionally didn't smile in the picture in front of the Dome.
After thinking about it today I wondered how many people have been killed over the years because of that building? How many people who claim to love God hate other people who claim to love God because of that building?
From what I can gather from photos I've seen of the building, it appears to be a beautiful building and a magnificent architectural design. But then I think, how can something that is so beautiful and magnificent cause such ugliness?
When you really get to thinking about that side of the history of that building, there's not much to smile about.

On a lighter note, it's been a bit of a stressful time around work lately. We are currently building some of units that will be used to build a ship for the Navy. We had a little uh-oh and tomorrow we are going to have to give a presentation to our customer, Northrop Grumman, and their customer, the U.S. Navy as to what happened, what we're doing to fix it, etc.
Man I finally got out of there today and got home and decided that I would get outside to do some yard work to try relax. I got the weedeater going and had made it about half way around the backyard when I realized that I had stepped in an ant bed. Do any of you folks remember what those old ladies used to look like at those Holy Ghost meetings? I aped 'em. After I had slung off my slip on tennis shoes and knocked all the ants off my feet and pants legs I realized that I had backed up into another ant bed. At that point in time I had a strong desire for there to be an eternal burning tormenting hell for all the ants in the world, all the gnats (the ones we have down here are crossed with rottweillers) and all the mosquitos in the world because it was getting close to dark and they had commenced their onslaught, and for whoever the "you know what" was that allowed those demonic ants to get on that ship in South America back in 1918 and travel to Mobile, AL. I wanted them all to be burning.
OK, I feel better now. Looking forward to a good service tomorrow night and trusting that the Lord moves mightily.

Hey Everybody,
Man have things been happening around here. Some good some not so good but it all together has kept me occupied with at least 3 or 4 things at a time. Some good some not so good. But I know the one that can make it ALL turn out good!

I wish I could be in about four no five different places this weekend also my wife’s family reunion is this Sunday then…… – there is Kim Clements meetings – CITN – and the 4th annual national Fathers day meeting of Christian universalist – and the annual national Christian universalist Association meeting. The last two are both in Oklahoma City sharing the same building for many events.

I have decided to go to Oklahoma and try to make as much as I can of both of these annual events. They will run simultaneously in some instances so I will just let the Lord lead in where I need to be.

Many of these folks are friends I don’t get to see very often except on occasions like these. They sort of nursed me into the message of reconciliation. But when we do it is great to have so many in one place and get to visit with them all at once. My good friend Dr. Lovelace is going to be one of the speakers and is even going to come back to my place after the meeting and we are going to have some more fellowship and a small meeting there with some friends and a couple local pastor friends I have been talking with about the message of UR. How cool is that!

However I am disappointed that I am going to miss the other three. I will have to get the DVDs or take a quick lesson in out of body travel.

It’s all good and I am thankful that we can trust our heavenly father to work out all the details of our journey.

Peace,
Dennis

Hey Thanks a lot Lisa and Anonymous for the info. I hope I didn't give the wrong impression about asking about Kim's friendships. Or to imply my concern as to whether those in the largest Christian broadcasting service in the world was preaching this "true gospel" in which I am a captive. I’m going to love the fundamentalist just as I love the world and myself. I just like to hope and wonder how fast this move is spreading and where. I’m passionate, but not urgently concerned. I know God is in control and will have his will be done just as he is in our lives. Oh and Lisa, loved the song "young at heart" on your bog. Something so relevant in the lyrics to that in all this. Again thank you both.

Don’t even know ya'll, already love ya!
