CHECK THIS OUT!

Hey...just a few things I need to tell you or remind you of...

For those of you in the Orlando area, I'll be ministering tomorrow at Oasis Fellowship Ministries...I have a lot of FB friends in central FLA that I haven't met yet, and this is a good opportunity for us to connect in person...hope to see some of you there!

Pastor Judah will be ministering in the 10 AM service at CHURCH IN THE NOW EAST...he has a really good word for you...those of you who are a part of CHURCH IN THE NOW ONLINE, don't forget to stream it live at www.churchinthenow.org...

And, speaking of Judah, those of you who are in the Athens, GA area should check out his new ministry there...it's called IGNITE ATHENS (www.igniteathens.com)...they meet every Monday night and some really cool stuff is happening there...

Also...

For those of you who attend CHURCH IN THE NOW MIDTOWN, don't forget to bring an hors d'oeuvre this coming Thursday night for a little time of meet and greet after the service...

Also, Oct 9 is our first Sunday service at CITNM! I'll be ministering and serving Communion there every Sunday at 8AM, and then will come out to Conyers and minister in the 10 AM service at CHURCH IN THE NOW EAST

...(btw, CITNE still meets at 1873 Iris Drive in Conyers for those of you who think we've moved...)

...and because several people have asked about this, let me remind you that the Sunday services at CITNM are IN ADDITION TO the Thursday services...hope to see you ATL people at both of them!

So, the new schedule of services is as follows:

SUNDAYS:
8AM: CHURCH IN THE NOW MIDTOWN
Biltmore House, Imperial Ballroom

10AM: CHURCH IN THE NOW EAST
1873 Iris Drive, Conyers

(MONDAYS: IGNITE ATHENS)

Wednesdays:
7PM: CHURCH IN THE NOW EAST

Thursdays:
7PM: CHURCH IN THE NOW MIDTOWN

And a big THANK YOU to all of you who continue to support this ministry and believe in (and understand) the unique vision of this house! We couldn't do what we do without you! I love you all!!!

I saw you speak at Oasis yesterday and it was truly life changing. I think this is the first time that I felt directly engaged with the scripture as if it was relevant to me as a gay man.

So many people have made me feel like this couldn't be my faith if I lived my life honestly...but you asked as God asked, "who told you that?" and why?

I could be angry at those Christians who cast me aside with fundamental interpretations but I am mostly just simply grateful for the sermon you ministered today, it is like my heart is truly beating again for the first time as a Christian.

God spoke through you directly to me instead of at me or over me or around me...for once my faith and my sexual identity could be at peace and engaged together in thoughtful and joyful praise.

When you asked us to open the bible to Genesis, I rolled my eyes...because for the longest time reading the bible especially the Old Testament has been to me like like making the victim of a crime return to the crime scene.

Yet God worked through you to make Genesis one of my favorite books now. Now that the beginning of the book doesn't seem so bad after all, maybe I will read the whole thing through.

Thank you also for speaking to the fact that religion has historically acted as a boys only club. I completely agree, the outright disregard for feminism and women leadership in so many Christian circles has profoundly bothered me.

I am now living my life with extra thought about striving for the tree of life versus the tree of good and evil.

Thank you and god bless.
