Saturday Sayings (Continued)

Hey bloggers,

I was going to write something more when I got in last night, but got in way too late (even for me) to do so...today's schedule should be lighter than yesterday's, so I'll be back later to write something...some of you have already posted something for today on yesterday's article...thanks for getting started...check back in a little while...

______________

OK, I’m back…it’s a few hours later, and at the time of this writing there are five comments posted here…

Saturday is usually a light traffic day on the blog, speaking of which, let me address a couple of things…

First of all, in answer to Peacemaker’s question (actually, several people have asked me this)…yes, I actually do sleep…a little. But the way the blog works is that, whatever time you send your message, it records that time, so that if you send a message at 4:00 AM (which some of you do), and I don’t post it until several hours later, your message will still say 4:00 AM at the bottom. And if I post it after some other things have been posted, the mechanism will insert it into the order in which it came, so it appears that I’m up 24 hours a day posting comments, but that’s not exactly true.

Secondly, some of you regulars have apologized for being on here too much, as if you’re possibly wearing out your welcome, and I want you to know that that is not the way I see it at all. I totally enjoy your cyber-company, so don’t ever feel self-conscious about being on here several times a day, especially if you really have something to say. If you look at other blogs you’ll notice that when a community actually evolves on one, that the same names are on there constantly. In fact, I get used to hearing from those of you who are on here daily, and kind of expect you to check in at some point during the day.

If you’re on here a lot, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have a life. I’m personally not online all day, but I am usually online off and on all through the day, as most of us in the 21st century are now. In other words, make yourself at home…I love having you here. We are all busy, and yet we all like to be here, so we make the time.

My schedule has been sort of slammed the last few days, so I appreciate that many of you just go ahead and make contact, even before I set the course for the blog that day. It’s all good. A lot of people tell me, even those who have never contributed here, that they feel like they are addicted to the blog; and, whether it should or not, it makes me happy to hear that. I’ve poured a lot into this site, and I’m glad that it’s important to you.

It may just be my positive imagination, but it seems to me that this week BLOGINTHENOW has sort of gone to another level (I know that term is completely overused), but that’s what it feels like to me.

Anyway, I have some free time today, so I may even write some more in a little while.

Oh, by the way, those of you who are a part of CITN…I’ve got a really good word for you tomorrow.

Talk to me.

Peace, Be Still!

from AYITN;
1. ...be still before God ...I will not allow the activity around me to alienate me from the Almighty's shadow.

2. ...wait.
3. ...be quiet.
4. ...I will not make any petition.
5. ...I will not spend time in intercession.
6. ...do no warfare.
7. ...just be...and I will just know...
BE EXALTED AMONG THE NATIONS...BE EXALTED IN THE EARTH!

... as I sit down to check in... the rays of sun are breaking through after this mornings rain, lighting up my kitchen, the Saturday blog loads up, and in perfect sync, the song starts, " I can see clearly now, the rain has gone"...

Cool.

Ya'll really stretch my mind with your posts... in a good way. It is easy for me to forget that I am the college educated woman when I am swept up in "Momdom" most of the time. "thanks".

Going to be still... (or at least attempt it, even with 4 boys running around here... sleepover central... gotta love it!)

Good Day Bloggers,
After following the leadership of AYITN I was reading this in my quite time today:

Gen 17:1 KJVR
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I AM THE ALMIGHTY GOD; WALK BEFORE ME, AND BE THOU PERFECT.

Gen 17:1 NIV
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, "I AM GOD ALMIGHTY; WALK BEFORE ME AND BE BLAMELESS.

That sounds like a pretty tall order to me…..even lets say…”impossible”. My question is why would the translators translate this in a way that makes it sound impossible to have a close relationship with God? Because it is not what it means….in the original language.

WALK = H1980
haw-lak'
BDB Definition:
1) to go, walk, come
1a) (Qal)
1a1) to go, walk, come, depart, proceed, move, go away
1a2) to die, live, manner of life (figuratively)

BEFORE ME = H6440
paw-neem'
BDB Definition:
1) face
1a) face, faces
1b) presence, person
1c) face (of seraphim or cherubim)
1d) face (of animals)
1e) face, surface (of ground)
1f) as adverb of loc/temp
1f1) before and behind, toward, in front of, forward, formerly, from beforetime, before
1g) with preposition
1g1) in front of, before, to the front of, in the presence of, in the face of, at the face or front of, from the presence of, from before, from before the face of

AND BE = H1961
haw-yaw'
BDB Definition:
1) to be, BECOME, COME TO PASS, exist, happen, fall out
1a) (Qal)
1a1) -----
1a1a) to happen, fall out, occur, take place, COME ABOUT, COME TO PASS
1a1b) TO COME ABOUT, COME TO PASS
1a2) TO COME INTO BEING, BECOME
1a2a) TO ARISE, APPEAR, COME
1a2b) TO BECOME
1a2b1) TO BECOME
1a2b2) TO BECOME LIKE
1a2b3) TO BE INSTITUTED, BE ESTABLISHED

PERFECT – BLAMELESS = H8549
taw-meem'
BDB Definition:
1) complete, whole, entire, sound
1a) complete, whole, entire
1b) whole, sound, healthful
1c) complete, entire (of time)
1d) sound, wholesome, unimpaired, innocent, having integrity
1e) what is complete or entirely in accord with truth and fact (neuter adjective/substantive)

Now lets see; considering the fact that this translation of the two most popular translations KJV & NIV is impossible to keep or do; we need to look at the original language for a more sane meaning here .

We walk = live go along with our lives in the presence of God (face) = Spirit……and in so doing WE BECOME – IT COMES TO PASS [a process that is taking place] – IT COMES ABOUT – IT COMES INTO BEING; THAT “WE BECOME” COMPLETE, WHOLE, ENTIRE, SOUND. (Which is the meaning of the New Testament Greek word for Salvation)

This to me is a long way from what the translation of the traditional translation. Which I believe is meant to put you in bondage to an eternal treadmill of trying on our own to be perfect. And in so doing would lead most to the yoke of institutionalized religions means of this unattainable escapade. I will not commence to try to rationalize why these translators chose this option and it was their choice. Unless it was bowing under the afore said institutions overwhelming power in society.

I would rather see it in a more realistic sense that would lead to an improved quality of relationship with God; which is the whole purpose of Gods interaction with man and the writing of the scriptures for mankind.

Just some thought from my quiet time today.

Peace,
Dennis

Hello all, this really refers to last few days comments, I got on, then ‘poof’ it switched to today, I get more and more confused with linear time.

Larry, you are on a roll, in the flow, riding the wave, excellent tailwind

Johnny --- Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Holy Spirit Garment holding everything together. Completely natural. The desire was placed in you by The Lord who has already called you as one who sees the tangible completion of The Desire in Your Heart (aka The Lord ?) .

Abraham, so glad you are here, there (really ‘here’ without the ‘t’) . Thank you for the view from your ‘window’, it is part of the triangulation.

Laura, thanks for the declaration , today follows your word.

Nancy, I love that too, road signs, TV shows ,advertisements , dreams, de ja vu, sometimes it is all these jumbled things and then one seemingly peripheral ‘thing’ connects all of it, one more piece in the garment.

Pastor Debye, ‘Prayers in unison’ - One God. Thank You and Bishop for testifying.

Anon 401 - The only thing I can relate ‘being saved’ to as it is put, is the salvation from my own imaginings that I choose to use to separate me from God, that those imaginings have no actual impact as far as God is concerned. There is no actual way to ever be separated, each one is intimately connected with God, but somewhere in the mix we pretend we are not, why ??? who knows, seems something to do with blooming our spirits ( through pur, or consuming fire) in a safe environment. Although, God does make sure we are always reminded there is no separation, except in our minds. That then comes to trust, do we trust that God has got us covered or not? I suppose that trust is the ‘salvation experience’.

Karl – Complete agreement for affluence in each area. Love, Erik.

Doubleback – You’re a hoot.

Mystic – Right there with ya, I understand going from MacDonald to Rasputin, and know about forgetting to keep The Lord My Lord all the time. Isn’t it a just a trip that we can all have great flow, revelation, hearing the Holy Spirit clearly in some areas, and others we have static head going on? Ya know – being welcomed back at the Father’s estate and also still in the pig sty.. how does that work ? The blooming process continues…

Mayam – Endeavoring, what a wonderful word.

Love being here.

Can't wait to worship with you and hear that word from the internets tomorrow Bishop.

"that all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well." - Blessed Julian of Norwich (1342-1416) a great mystic who lived in England during the days of the Black Death.

Feelin' this Blog and the Love,

Rev. Dennis...
It occurred to me I have never responded to one of your postings, Well, I'm not going to respond to one today either...I'm going to respond to all of them. Not individually, of course, but collectively.
I can't remember one that has not eloquently answered someone's question, encouraged someone who needed a word, or edified the blog community as a whole. Your knowledge of scripture and it's use to translate and share the unconditional love of God is a pearl of great price to those who may still struggle with that fact. You are champion in the message of the universal reconciliation and reading what you have to say about it really proves it is your life calling and passion. Man, you can really feel it.
I could say much more, but I'll leave it at this: You are vital to the life and growth of this community of great seers, thinkers, prophets, and sages. So many have been encouraged, edified, and comforted by your words and I'm honored to share this cyber-space with you.
I pray a special blessing on you, your family, and your ministry. I say you need for nothing because you are furnished unto every good work. Because of your dedication to your call, this blog community, CITN, and Bishop Swilley, your ministry will bear much fruit that will remain for aeons. Your knowledge of God's love will increase exponentially as will the souls who are freed from the torment of a hopeless eternity because of the good news you share.

Peace To You My Brother...

Happy Saturday!

I was watching TV thinking, when I was thinking about something I heard as a child/teen. One of the most fearful things a to a young Christian (aside from missing the Rapture) was backsliding because it could lead to a "reprobate mind", (Romans 1:21-32) which on my young understanding meant you would stray so far from God for so long that eventually he would not take you back and you were left to travel all-expense paid to fire and brimstone. So then I wondered did the reprobate mind cancel out "once saved always saved". What was the backslide-reprobate mind ratio? Where was the de facto line. What if you're struggling with doubt or sin and have been, should you not bother to worship anymore at all since you may be too far gone? Stop the madness I wanna get off!!!!! Thanks to this church,Max Lucado, and my own profession I have a bit better understanding of what that means (at least I think). It's like dealing with a student who is consistently disruptive in my class, I can correct, give the proper discipline, but until he is ready to do what he needs to do I can't make him. So inevitably I have to move on with my lesson as follows. When he's ready he can come join us, but all the while he's missing out. God is always ready and willing to welcome a prodigal, and his mercy is new every morning, but if you're not ready to accept him. He'll go about being God, ready when you are.
Your thoughts?

FYI: This parable is used in "In the Grip of Grace" (the Max Lucado book I referred to in my last post.) It's actually a good cliffs notes of the book, but the book's a good read too.

I love and agree with your response to Anon. There have been some great answers to his question and all are valid and true in their own way, but yours is closest to how I personally see it.
As a matter of fact, I was thinking about this just this morning.
However one believes about Adam and man's fall; whether literal or symbolic, really doesn't matter in light of the 8 words Paul said: "You were alienated from God in your minds." Not in body, not in spirit, not by sin, but in your minds. We talk about that but never really grasp the profundity of that statement.
The verse does, however, reinforce my belief there was never any real separation, as you said in your comment.
God can't separate Himself from Himself. Therefore, I believe we never have nor ever will be separate from Him.(forgive the gender distinction...trying to be PC, you know)

Thanks for all your insight...

I agree that the blog has gone to another level. Maybe overused, but appropriate none the less.

I also believe that this is a direct reflection of the "blogmaster" going to another level. While reading Deepak Chopra's "The Third Jesus", a statement that he made in the opening chapter really spoke to me and has since changed the very essence of how I operate.

He states "... I considered an essential spiritual truth: People mirror back to us the reality of who we are."

This book gave me an entirely new, and very welcome, paradigm of "Jesus". In Deepak's introduction he states, "Jesus did not physically descend from God's dwelling place above the clouds, nor did he return to sit at the right hand of a literal throne. What made Jesus the Son of God was the fact that he had achieved God-consciousness. Jesus said as much, over and over, when he declared that "the Father and I are one." He knew no separation between his thoughts and God's thoughts, his feelings and God's feelings, his actions and the actions God wanted performed."

My prayer for myself and all of us is God-consciousness - however He chooses to manifest that in each individual. Jesus is a point of reference for many - but not the only point of reference.

I know that all of us can say "The Father and I are one," but manifestation of the power of this statement only comes through total and unshakable belief that this is true. Our Spirit knows it is truth, but our humanity does not operate in unshakable belief in this truth.

There is only ONE GOD, ONE FAITH ... believe and see the manifestation of the power, as it works through us, that is bigger than the universe.

If you would like to contemplate just exactly how big that is, check out the link to a short video about how big the universe is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgg2tpUVbXQ

I am in reverent awe of the new level this covenant community is rising to especially as it shows in all the connected individuals. I am a dedicated blog reader and not so much a blog participant as I enjoy observing the blog community grow and flow without my interaction in the natural realm but only my intercession in the spirit realm.

As I am led by the Spirit, I occasionally make a post, but thoroughly enjoy all who do participate (no matter how much or how little). I love you all, thank you for allowing me to observe such a divinely ordered progression in Christ.

Thanks, Anonymous, for the AYITN reference…

Nice imagery, G8trgrl…and well-expressed…

Happy Saturday to you, too, DGM2007

Great stuff, as always, Rev. Dennis…you need to write a book…

Erik, love having you here, as well…

Feelin’ you feelin’ the blog, Scott…

Very cool, Laura…thanks…

Me too, Teezy…

Peacemaker, thanks for the great shout-out to Rev. Caldwell…I couldn’t have said it better, and I agree with you…

Excellent observation, Ebony, and my thoughts are that you got it exactly right…

And another great word to Erik, Peacemaker…that is still a mysterious concept to me, because I do believe that the atonement was essential to reconciling God and man…no doubt Paul said that we were alienated from God in our minds, but it seems like the blood sacrifice of Jesus would have had to do more than just fix a mindset…unless the human mind is so much more powerful than we even realize, which could, in fact, be the case…whatever, I’m just glad it happened…it’s something to think about, for sure…

Thanks, Anonymous for your very articulate comments, and for your sensitivity in expressing them in a way that doesn’t bait the “New Age watchdogs” who snoop around here. Hopefully, we are reaching a place here where intelligent dialogue can take place in peace and freedom, and that all who visit will recognize that God is honored here at all times…

Abundant LIFE!

Hello All.

I've got some catching up to do. It's just not the same reading on the BBerry 2inch screen! For an addict, it'll do for a quick fix to keep away the jitters--but definitely not the same as ITBS (that would be "in the BigScreen"--smile). I never did drugs or cigarrettes so I can't compare but this pure "whatever it is" works for me!

I agree, Bishop, regarding the quantum leap here. If I had to point to a day, I'd say it started Monday, with a slightly wobbly readjustment to an impartation and by Tuesday the change was complete. It had a "suddenly" feel to it. Trusting I was where I was supposed to be and doing what I was supposed to be doing is the only way I kept from feeling like one of the oil-less virgins!

So---I'm headed to the archives to get the full experience. A recent Pastor Debye quote comes to mind---I want it ALL!
