No Monsters!

You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
(Psalm 91:13 - TNIV)

Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and (physical and mental strength and ability) over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.
(Luke 10:19 - AMP)

Today I will live in the now! I will live in the now because I am free from every curse—I do not fear demons or witchcraft or any work of darkness. My light cannot be overtaken and God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!

Today I will not be afraid of “the beast,” or of Armageddon, or the sign of 666*. I know that God has given me dominion on this planet and I hold the keys of the Kingdom!

Today I will not fear the future. I declare the end from the beginning!

Today I will not fear any accusation from the brethren’s accuser, because I am covered with the blood of Jesus and I am familiar with the word of my testimony.

Today I will not be afraid in my house—no plague will come near my dwelling! I am not afraid of the terror by night or of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday!

Today I will not be afraid of any accident or calamity, for the angel of the Lord sets up camp around me and bears me up in his own hand.

Today, even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for God is with me! His rod and His staff comfort me today, and today I will live in the now!

Father, keep me safe today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Incredible pictures (especially the Jesus Jack O' Lantern)! Perhaps my favorite post yet.

The April 19 post on 666 is much more relevant now than it was 6 months ago.

Great pics, great message!

My condolences as well Donald. I have a brother that is 55 and a year ago he made the comment about dying when he gets to 68- I told him "shut up, don't you say that!" We were very close when we were little, drifted, and are very close again. Can't imagine losing any of my siblings, having just lost my Dad last year. But knowing where they are is the ultimate peace!

Hey P. Dennis! Enjoy!!

Bishop- love the pic of the angel & sleeping child, so powerful!
Do you remember a book called something like "Exodus #2" about the release of Jews from the USSR back in the 80's? In it, the author talked about having an encounter with an angel in his hotel room and was smitten, on the floor, unable to move hardly. He thought he was going crazy, until one of his friends walked into the room and also fell down on the floor and said in affect, "My God, what is this?!" He said the angel's "belt" or "sash" came up to the level of the ceiling of his room! The book made a big impression on me. I asked the Lord that if He wanted me to share it with anyone as I travelled, to let me meet them. Turns out, my seat on the flight was right next to a Jewish person and THEY looked over and asked me what the book was about. After sharing about 2 minutes worth, they couldn't handle any more and kinda "shut down". I wonder if they ever thought about the prophesy of the release of the Jews from Russia later as hundreds of thousands fled during a period of openness in the Soviet Union!

Y'all have a blessed eve!

Little piece of an article about the guy that wrote Exodus book:

"A warm and unassuming man from Bellevue, Washington, (Steve) Lightle once owned a business in Seattle called Dippy Duck Car Wash. The business' amusing name belies the way God used Lightle and small teams of intercessors to shake the Soviet Union with prayer in the 1970s and 1980s and to help open the doors for a modern Jewish exodus.
During a key prayer mission to the Soviet Union in 1983, Lightle and the three men with him wrestled spiritually for the release of the Jewish people. At that time fewer than 100 Jews per month were allowed to leave Soviet lands. In each city Lightle and his com panions visited, they circled a statue of Vladimir Lenin and proclaimed that the idol and the communist ideals it represented would fall.
Even though they dressed as tourists and operated in secrecy, the intercessors nevertheless attracted the attention of the KGB secret police. Lightle's group was monitored so closely that in one city, as the men were praying in tongues, Lightle felt someone behind him and discovered an agent was leaning in with his hand cupped to his ear, trying to eavesdrop.
The KGB was baffled by these strange men who spoke an unknown language.
"They said I had the best-kept secret in the world," Lightle says. "They knew I had something to do with the Jews. They couldn't find my organization or bank account because I had none. [They] couldn't put [their] finger on anything I'd done."
On another trip, Lightle and a team of international intercessors stood outside the Moscow office of then-president Mikhail Gorbachev and repeated words that the Old Testament prophet Samuel spoke to King Saul of Israel: "Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has rejected you as king" (see 1 Sam. 15:26).
As they walked along the walls of the Kremlin and noticed a large red star perched atop a tower, one of the intercessors was reminded of Revelation 8:10-11, which describes a great star falling from heaven.
Later, the men took a midnight walk to the Moscow River where they tied a stone to a Bible, in which they had marked passages about judgment, and threw it into the icy water.
Four months later, in April 1986, an explosion and fire at the Chernobyl nuclear reactor in Ukraine sent a lethal plume of radiation over the Soviet Union's prime farmland and water supply. As news of the disaster spread around the world, the intercessors read a New York Times article about a prominent Russian writer who had made a link to the judgment falling on the Soviet Union. He cited the same chapter in Revelation the prayer team had read months earlier in Moscow, how a star called "Wormwood" would turn bitter one-third of the water (see v. 11).
The writer explained that the Ukrainian word for "wormwood"--a bitter herb used as a tonic in Russia--is chernobyl. Gorbachev later admitted that the disaster shook the country, calling it "a turning point."
In December 1989, as the Soviet Union began to dissolve, Gorbachev issued a reform to ease restrictions on Jewish emigration. Within 13 months, nearly 200,000 Soviet Jews had made aliyah."

Calling All Wanderers Come Home.

Softly and tenderly, Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See on the portal, He's watching and waiting
Watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home
Ye who are wandering come home
Ernestly, tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling, all wanderers come home.

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing
Passing from you and from me
Though we have wandered, he has mercy and pardon
Pardon for you and for me.

Come home, come home
Ye who are weary come home
Ernestly, tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling, all wanderers come home.

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling all wanderers come home...

The power to trample over...

P. Scott had a word this morning following prayer that seems good to share a paraphrase here:

As God brought the animals before Adam to see what he would call them, so we now are given dominion to name everything, and that's what God will call it.

The Israelites were afraid of God's audible voice, yes, but also, we do not hear the audible voice of God because he has given us that dominion and He is waiting to see what we will name our day, our life, our challenges, our ... everything, and that's the name that He will use.

No Monsters!

Today is Shalom.
Nothing missing.
Nothing broken.

and no, I wasn't working on a Halloween costume. As fate would have it, if I were into Halloween (Joe & I usually turn out the lights and go out to dinner), I'd have a monster mask w/out trying. Had to go to the doctor today. Y'all know how I feel about going to the doctor :O Think I have a cosmetic allergy; it's the only thing that makes sense timewise. Been having problems with my left eye for about a month... about the time I started using a different mascara. My eyelid would itch like crazy for awhile, then stop... off and on... until day before yesterday, it just about tripled in size before the right one started itching, too. It kinda scared me! Anyway, when I woke up this morning from all of a few minutes sleep, Joe didn't even question going in to work. He said, "I'm staying home; you might need me." So, I bucked up and went to the Doctor's Care clinic up the street from us. Cortizone shot, ointment and prescription eyedrops.
Feeling better. Looking a bit better, but still pretty swollen. Anyway, you guys pray for me. I'm thankful that I don't typically get the more serious stuff, but man, I sure do get the weird stuff happening to me!

In light of today's pics, how's this for a word ver:
'lings' - living in God's shadow
Pretty cool, huh?

I just edited something, and my new word ver is 'medizerf.' Someone tackle that one for me :)

Wow it is desolate here today. OK I was not going to post this, but I totally feel like God is in it. I have been REALLY transparent here lately. Apparently that is my season for now, for any of you who know me personally that is not the norm for my personality. As many of you know we run a building business and have REALLY felt the hit of the economy. As I posted to anon yesterday I was preaching to myself as I do here everyday. Trying really hard not to be double minded as I posted several weeks ago. Bishop you preached something on this Wednesday night and as soon as you said double minded my computer crashed. Anyway- I was moving food around in the fridge and the pantry yesterday (to make it look like more so my kids would not notice we were struggling) and we really have plenty- more than some I am certain. Anyway, I always worry behind my facade. That is my double mindedness. Well, today I get up and put a letter in the mailbox and find an envelope with $100 dollars in it. And let's just say it was yet another reminder that God has our back. Most importantly- it came to me and I believe it was God who revealed it to me that it was my son who had put it there "anonymously". Let me just say when I figured it out it was the most humbling thing I have experienced in a long time. But most importantly God showed me that I have kids who have a heart after Him-a giving heart and that is of more worth than silver or gold or even houses selling and the stock market. BTW after we gave his hard earned money back, God did provide as He always does.

hey,

Just voted too (will actually be absentee on Nov 4) Some conversation recently was that a candidate could be the anti christ, and then I thought, if one believes or cares if a candidate is the anti christ, that is exactly who one should vote for, and fulfill that interpretation, ushering in the 2nd coming, right ?

I mean, if that is what one believes. It seems that 'FINALLY, we can get this thing done'. That would be the goal, if I understand it correctly. Whomever the anti christ is, they are wanted as soon as possible, right ? A means to an end, since in that reality, Jesus won't come until then. Or am I missing the point?

Just curious, since as far as I am concerned that is long done, I am just talking about the belief that the drama is coming, not already done. No offense, just trying to understand why the anti christ is not wanted as soon as possible, for those who are waiting for 'The End'. Does that make sense?

Eric I get where you are coming from. I had a friend at work the other day who is a Christian, but was talking of predictions by religious, scientists and some other historians that they all had come to the same prediction that end of the world would happen at the same specific time in dec of 2012. I told her I didn't care. Which may sound insensitive(if taken out of context), I just meant that I'm good if it turns out to be true or if isnt. I love life and look forward to all the things God has in store for me and my family, but I am good if he decides to "beam me up" in the near future. Pamela

COOL point Eric!

...i just read this...heyheyhey....

"Who Shall Separate us from the Love of Christ?"
(Romans 8:28-39)

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among any brethren; and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, "For Thy sake we are being put to death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered." But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. for I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

SOTB V ?
this evening on my way home from dropping off my teenager i was listening to Sha' Simpson's powerfully awesome worship cd. I thought to myself, "i need to get this out of my car before i have a hiccup or something. (i'm not even thinking about having an accident, especially during worship. okay?? okay!) this cd is just too good to listen to while i'm tooling about town running errands! i really need it to be playing in the house so it can do what it do, you know what i mean? worship involves being totally focused & fixated on HIM. can't do that while i'm driving.

SOTB V. can we do that on a Sunday morning? yeah. however, it will not be the same. first of all Sunday morning is not the same as all day Saturday. so it may need a name change to Class of the Bible or Bible Workshop :) also, everyone there will not be on one accord. people come to church on Sundays for a plethora of reasons, its just a habit for some, like brushing their teeth. (just being real :)
me personally, i want my 8 hours. i want my workbook. i want my children free zone to study, worship and ponder the awesome wonder of the Holy Spirit; Ghost for those who have to go there :) i want my name tag, i want Jane and Rene to greet me when i get my stuff, i want REVELATION...can u feel me on this one??? (sombody give me some dap!)

i would never say to my pastor "let me dumb it down." so listen when i simply say, NO! don't do this to us! we're your boo! at least that's what u used to say on Wednesdays! :{
WWJD? well when he was at that wedding turning water into wine, everybody said he saved the best for last. be like Jesus! don't go back(wards)! i want to pay the $25 even $50! just give us ample notice & your boos will do what we do......
we'll be there!

Bishop Jim Swilley said...

Excellent point, Erik...one that I've actually brought up in the past...I would say more about it, but in the last few days this Scripture just keeps rolling around in my spirit in response to many things that I've heard:

But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.

I feel you, Reign!, but I think if I explained what I'm visualizing about it (not now, I'm too tired to write it all out) you might feel differently.

But I do understand what you're saying (it gave me a good chuckle, and, yes, y'all still my boo), and I appreciate that you feel that passionately about it.
