Psalm 139 (The Message)

A David Psalm

1-6. God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand. I'm an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I'm thinking. You know when I leave and when I get back; I'm never out of your sight. You know everything I'm going to say before I start the first sentence. I look behind me and you're there, then up ahead and you're there, too — your reassuring presence, coming and going. This is too much, too wonderful — I can't take it all in!

7-12. Is there anyplace I can go to avoid your Spirit? to be out of your sight? If I climb to the sky, you're there! If I go underground, you're there! If I flew on morning's wings to the far western horizon, You'd find me in a minute — you're already there waiting! Then I said to myself, "Oh, he even sees me in the dark! At night I'm immersed in the light!" It's a fact: darkness isn't dark to you; night and day, darkness and light, they're all the same to you.

13-16. Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb. I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day.

17-22. Your thoughts—how rare, how beautiful! God, I'll never comprehend them! I couldn't even begin to count them — any more than I could count the sand of the sea. Oh, let me rise in the morning and live always with you! And please, God, do away with wickedness for good! And you murderers—out of here! — all the men and women who belittle you, God, infatuated with cheap god-imitations. See how I hate those who hate you, God, see how I loathe all this godless arrogance; I hate it with pure, unadulterated hatred. Your enemies are my enemies!

23-24. Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I'm about; See for yourself whether I've done anything wrong — then guide me on the road to eternal life.

Wonderfully and fearfully made, seems to be the title to me. Peterson genius transcends time and space as he makes the word come alive.

The fetus, the unborn miracle, soon to be miracle speaks to so much. It speaks to the creation that yet moans and travails for the true birth. How miraculous is He, what a wonder is our God.

He made us, breathed into us, shaped us, is shaping us, will shape us in the Now as we stay on the potter's wheel for our journey as His children, His discples, His handiwork for all the world to see. And even when we try to hide or close ourselves off from others and our selves we are totally open for Him to re-shape yet again by His spirit. He is with us always, eternally and He is ever mindful of His kids, the kings kid.

He are marvelously made and He did it/and the world marvels at His creation.

love, Yve

Papa God,

Thank you for our breath. Thank you for this life. Thank you for each precious gift; each sacred soul that you have given unto us. When we behold our brother, we behold you Lord. When we reach out to our sister, it is you we are reaching. You who died for all, are in and unto all. We exalt your name above all the Earth. As it is in heaven, so is it here with us on Earth. You have given us eyes to see. Great is Your love to all people. You have given us ears to hear. Great is Your love to all. Today we enter into the Day of the Lord. Today is your day. We see you in all things. We trust in you, hope in You, believe all things in you. Today we bow our hearts into The One. Send rain into our life today. Send the blast of your Spirit, the energizing redeeming power of your blood runs through our veins. Shine your love upon our minds. We are your people. You are the bread of life. All is in your hands. Maker and ruler over all things, you are the Most High God and we stand and glory in your promise.

~Amen

Larry,

I’ve meant to say something about a post of your s a few days ago. Coming off the mountain and sensing the Spirit in those you encountered. That’s powerful stuff my friend. Continue in your ministry, you are a light to those in your path. Satriani! Good stuff man.

Yve, I wasn't really aware who translated The Message, interesting stuff. Watched a PBS special calledThe Battle for the Bible this week. Very interesting indeed. Truly things are getting brighter in the world. We are continuing to move out of the darkness that Paul warned would come and entering from glory to glory.

Erik, Wow great expansion of thoughts concerning The Cloud post last night. I think instead of doing those occasionally at first on the blog, I'm going to do them sometimes at night as an after dinner spiritual desert, in a matter of words. The council of that book is not free from all the trappings of the Christianity present in the world 700 years ago on certain points, however, the overall body of thought within it concerning a prayer life of love and light, rather than one of earthly requests and concerns is timeless. Their is a time and a place for petition, and I believe that need not be a long time. Rather, let us allow the cares of this life to dissolve from our minds as we boldly enter into the throne of grace and experience what God has prepared for their for us. This will make the time in our active lives much more powerful, effective, and efficient. I would that we all live by the Spirit, myself the most of which.

Pastor Dennis, I’ve been meaning to write you and I will soon. Amazing discoveries indeed. I am fascinated by the progression of those declarations of who God is… Great post you have up at not1lost.blogspot.com right now. I know your continuing in many works, but your blog is always an appreciated gift and a blessing.

Bishop Tommy, Wow, you are a real visionary and an encouragement of love and faith in action. Your youtube video should end with information on how you can be contacted and supported.

I pray a special blessing on the Daughters of Zion here today. Laura, Lissa, Linda, Tracy, Izumi/Joy, Ebony, and Iris. You are mighty in the Lord. Your prayers are full of working power in Christ. You walk in the presence of the Lord. Your hands are healing hands.

I pray that divine instruments of communication continue to open up for all involved in this global ministry of reconciliation. God as you send your angels to and fro; send the words of your saints in fresh new, now ways between us. Your hand is guiding us and our steps. All lines are open.

Apologize if I ran long.
Big Love today Ya’ll.

Life - Its Potentials.. Are they limited.. or not.. ?

Is the after-life really a logical concept.. ?

Some ponderings….

If everything.. we see all around us.. can come out of nothing..

Then why shouldn't something.. even more remarkable.. arise out of all that already exists.. ?

Could another level of a living phenomena.. arise out of this existing material universe.. ?

An evolution of a new stage of life.. that is immaterial.. without any physical substance whatsoever. A form of life that has thought forms as its substance.. instead of atoms.. ?

Is that possible.. ?

That the universe.. and the life within it.. comes out of nothing.. is unbelievable.

Even impossible.. we might say.

So what is possible.. really.. ?

Why shouldn't another.. higher.. metaphysical level.. arise.. to serve as a platform.. on which consciousness could continue to exist.. after physical death.. in order to sustain the evolution of life.. and to take it even further.. ?

A purely mental environment… constructed out of our memories.

Meaning.. all our memories.. throughout the entire history of the human race. Maybe even memories of animals.. and possibly.. plants too. Or even memories of life on other planets.

That would provide a lot of material to create yet another level of existence out of.. wouldn't it..?

And the energy of construction.. would be imaginary.. meaning this would be a purely mental construct.. just as dreams are.

We know that organic life reproduces itself continually as a species..

So why shouldn't life be able to reproduce itself.. as a purely mental image.. by drawing on its memories.. and thereby sustaining itself even further a field.. ?

What's stopping it.. ?

Maybe only our own lack of imagination.. and will.

Consider this then..

This already happens to us.. in our dreams.

We know consciousness continually switches between.. the material world.. that we sense outside us.. the immaterial environment… that we experience within..

Such as.. thoughts.. feelings.. and dreams.. etc.

It seems.. what should be taken into consideration.. is that.. our consciousness has a polarity.. and both poles are very real.. and both have meaning.. and purpose.

Maybe dreams are just the first stirrings of our mental world.. as it struggles to be born inside us.. so that we might be free to cast off our physical garment.. and take on our real nature.. which is god-like.. compared to what we are now.

What is it that the symbol of the Sphinx represents.. with the head of a god.. and the body of a lion (the king of the beasts).. ?

Could this be who we are.. really then.. both human (the king of the beasts) - and god.. potentially.. in our minds (or spirits).. ?

Is this the Sphinx's mysterious secret.. ?

Our inner world then.. is possibly.. preparing us for such a metaphysical transition.. to a purely mental condition.. that we could take on.. when our body dies.

It would seem.. that in all probability.. the physical is only our temporary state.. and just as the caterpillar becomes a butterfly.. we will also undergo a dramatic metamorphosis.. given time.

Is that the purpose of our life.. ?

Taking these points – alone - into consideration... wouldn't a continuation of life.. seem more logical.. than not.. ?

When we observe all the variations of life on this planet.. and the seemingly hostile conditions that life can thrive under.. like extreme temperatures of hot and cold.. hibernation.. deep sea life forms that never see light.. etc.

We might well ask ourselves..

Have we discovered - ALL - of life's mysteries.. and potentials.. ?

"That which the dream shows is the shadow of such wisdom as exists in man, even if during his waking state he may know nothing about it...

We do not know it because we are fooling away our time with outward and perishing things, and are asleep in regard to that which is real within ourself."

SOZ,

The thoughts of Paracelsus and others before him are pervasive to most religious systems.

The thought is appealing to my mind and seems to parrallel my understanding of worshiping God as a Spirit from the exspanse of our own spirit.

The collective memories of all creation from the eternal now continues in timelessness to generate even greater glory to the Creator.

Even the thought of a massive black hole sucking up the entire universe as we know it seems to be beautiful to me from the perspective of thinking, planning, organizing, implementing, observing the results, regathering data and producing a new and improved version of the orginal thought.

You have provided good fodder from your inspiration. Bishop's pictures and word choices often send me into these kind of deep places.

I teach little ones, my prayer is always, Lord don't let me say or do anything that could damage their spirits, I want to help them see God for who He really is, a father that loves them and wants only what is best for them.

Please remember me in prayer today, I have some tough choices to make regarding a career move, if I accept it I have to leave. Just seeking God's will.

Ephesians 1:1 says “It’s in Christ we find out who we are and what we are living for.”

Psalm 71:17—You got me when I was an unformed youth, God, and you taught me everything I know.

Ephesians 1:11-19—it’s in Christ that we found who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had His eyes on us, had design on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

It’s in Christ that you and me, once we heard the truth and believed it (this Message of our Salvation), found ourselves home free? Signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything god has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.

A STORY THAT COULD BE TRUE

If you were exchanged in the cradle and your real mother died without ever telling you the story then no one knows your name, and somewhere in the world your father is lost and needs you but you are far away.
He can never find how true you are, how ready.
When the great wind comes and the robberies of the rain you stand on the corner shivering.
The people who go by?
You wonder at their calm.
They miss the whisper that runs any day in your mind,
“Who are you really, wanderer”?
And the answer you have to give no matter how dark and cold
The world around you is:
“Maybe I’m a king or a queen.”

By William Staford
These words from this poem can serve us as a reminder of our IDENTITY! And the answer you have to give no matter how dark and cold the world around you is: “MAYBE I’M A king or A QUEEN.

Pic 2 - Paraphrasing liberally

Gen. 8:8 - And Noah (rest, comfort) sent a dove (harbinger of peace, emblem of purity) forth to check out the earth's face.

9). But, she found no rest - no stable place to alight; the whole world was being washed. Then, Comfort stretched out His hand and pulled her back to safety.

10). And Noah stayed another seven days; and again, he sent forth Purity from Abba's wooden chest.

11). And Peace returned to Noah that night, with an olive leaf; assurance that Abba's tears had finally abated.

12). Noah stayed seven more days, then sent her forth a final time.

Genesis 28:12 - That night Jacob dreamed. His spirit eyes saw a ladder extending from earth to heaven. And WOW... celestial beings were ascending and descending on it!

In their midst, Peace whispered into Jacob's sleeping form, "Don't stop until you see the promised land."

Calmness extended to a psalmist's field, causing her to sing how God had strengthened the bars of her gates. He blessed her children within her borders and decorated them with His very nature. He filled them with exquisite grains.

A Shulamite woman heard rustling - the fluttering of Peace Wings in her garden. She ran to welcome Him.

"Wait! You're that One - the Presence in the clefts of the Rock during the days of rain. Yes, that's it! It was You in the stairs - in Jacob's dream place. Let me see your face. Let me hear your voice. Yes, it's You!"

Tranquility fluttered forward, twirling Matthew's pages of generations.

Illumination blazes before wise men and clarifies the path. When we see His star, we are overtaken with extreme gladness. For He is sweet and altogether, lovely.

Destiny rests in Christ's swaddling-clothes.

And, JOY cries for Peace.

Hey Larry,

I’ve already said this to P. Avery, personally, but I also want to say to you that I didn’t mean to sound so testy with you on yesterday’s comments page (9:30 PM). It’s just that I started out the day with this awesome praise report about speaking to nations, and by the end of the day I had been challenged heavily on my ability to actually speak to every one of them!

Forgive my frustration…but communication is extremely important to me, and when I feel like I can’t do it effectively, it gets to me (and it gets my blood pressure back up)...and when everyone has information that I don’t have (and should have), it is a problem for me.

Long story short, it’s all good now. I’ve set up another e-mail account, and I am communicating easily with Rosette one-on-one, and will call P. Ben later today.

Bottom line is, they’ve found another place to rent and build on…looks like they need an additional $4,000.00 to add to what they already have to make it happen.

I told her to go ahead and pursue it, and that we will see what we can do on our end (which, in the natural, is nothing…but I’m believing for a miracle), to help.

Thanks for understanding.

Bishop Jim Swilley said...

And Rosette,

I got your messages, and have responded to them. I completely understand, and I also want you and P. Ben to know that we consider you all family, so you don't need to keep information from us, or feel any embarassment.

The connection we made with all of you when we were in Uganda was real, as is our bond, and we're all going to get through this together.

I love you and your husband, and i believe in both of you.

And, as I said yesterday, this thing is going to end up being a blessing for you and your church. You'll see.

Bishop Jim Swilley said...

And P. Josh,

I also didn't mean for my comment to you to sound the way that it probably did (9:19 PM). I know that you were just trying to help.

P. Tommy's offering was pretty good, especially if you consider the current economic situation here in the states, and I think that we are wiring the money tomorrow or Thursday...plus we got caught up on our monthly Philippine support (we consider it a faith-seed for what we need right now)...so you guys are going to be OK...

Looking forward to seeing you in January...

Stay strong...

And B. Tommy,

As you can see from the comments posted here since Sunday...you did good...in your weakness He was made strong...

Hope to see you before you leave the country...

(Donald Rump won, btw!) God is soooo good!

Been blurking more lately but have thoroughly been enjoying all of you and your GREAT FAITH!

Larry- Satriani! Hubby had a ticket to go, but wasn't able to get home from out of town to go... we saw G3 a few years back... awesome! I hear of so much spiritual connection that people have atop Stone Mountain... I suppose that happens without cranky younglings and the proverbial "are we there yet?" on the way to the top...or was that me? Did I type that out loud?! :o)

Just heard a song on PBS kids saying to "make everyday Valentines Day, and say I LOVE YOU"... so, blog family, let me say, thank you for keeping the love alive with your wonderful wisdom, worship, and wacky word veri's! This connection truly is a lifeline somedays...

I never take offense Bishop. I am so glad to hear about today's developments! I KNEW something good was going to happen the moment the "bad" news came. I know what you mean about communication! For some of us, communication IS LIFE-and to be without it for short durations creates its own stress. Last week when I blogged about climbing the mountain & meeting all those great folks I was in acute need of communicating with God- and this is how He did it- through His Body(a few days without the blog contributed to that sense of need!).

Thanks SOZ! Safe to say we are brothers from the SAME Father! I appreciate your word pictures of life & being!

I am reaching out now, having glimpsed the future, to embrace(with a shudder) what lies ahead. To reach the peak one must climb(we all have a climb in progress and ahead of us), but if you see-if only a scintilla of it, then the climb becomes- an adventure!

Have a blessed day!

Seeing What Others Cannot See

TGIF Today God Is First Volume 1 by Os Hillman
Tuesday, October 28 2008

"And Elisha prayed, 'O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.' Then the Lord opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha." 2 Kings 6:17
Several years ago, a movie was made called Field of Dreams. The story is about a man who had a vision to build a baseball field in the middle of a cornfield on his rural farm. He did not know why; he just knew he was to do it. To the chagrin of his neighbors, he built the baseball diamond in the farm community. One night some players showed up. The man realized these were no ordinary players, but were actually the great players from the past. When the skeptical neighbors came to view this phenomenon, they were unable to see what the farm owner could see. This made it even worse for him. Now he was really a lunatic in their eyes.

This fictitious story has a spiritual application for us. First, if God tells us to "build a ball field," we should do it. It is not for us to determine the reason we are instructed to do it. Once we are obedient, God will allow us to see what others cannot see. It is the rite of passage for those who are willing to risk all for God's purposes. God increases the spiritual senses to levels we never knew before. Those around us will observe this.

Do you want to see what others cannot see? If so, it will require a level of obedience that will go beyond human reason. It may require risk and ridicule from others. But you will see what others cannot see.

Joe was really fresh and the band seemed to really just be having fun, so the crowd had fun. Got a chance to talk at length with Jeff Campitelli, Joe's drummer, with my daughter after the show(my gaughter has had a crush on him since she was 10! HA!) I'll post our pic with him here!

Love going up to the N Ga Mtns, $$ has kept me away this year much to my chagrin; in my hometown in NYS, we had a cider mill about 1/2 a mile from home, so, needless to say, we were there constantly watching them with the old-timey press making cider- always 40 degrees and totally pure! YUMMY! It was right next to our school, which we walked to- small towns have their advantages! I especially miss NY in the Fall with all the maple trees & the ubiquitous color!(sorry, I just like the word ubiquitous!)

Anyhow, gotta run, will check back later!

Chapter 4

Of the simplicity of contemplation; that it may not be acquired through knowledge or imagination

I have described a little of what is involved in the contemplative work but now I shall discuss it further, insofar as I understand it, so that you may proceed securely and without misconceptions.
This work is not a time-consuming even though some people believe otherwise. Actually it is the shortest you can imagine; as brief as an atom, which, as the philosophers say, is the smallest division of time. The atom is a moment so short and integral that the mind can scarcely conceive it. Nevertheless it is vastly important, for of this minute measure of time it is written: "You will be held responsible for all the time given you." This is entirely just because your principal spiritual faculty, the will, needs only this brief fraction of a moment to move toward the object of its desire.
If you were now restored by grace to the integrity man possessed before sin you would be complete master of these impulses. None would ever go astray, but would fly to the one sole good, the goal of all desire, God himself. For God created us in his image and likeness, making us like himself, and in the Incarnation he emptied himself of his divinity becoming a man like us. It is God, and he alone, who can fully satisfy the hunger and longing of our spirit which transformed by his redeeming grace is enabled to embrace him by love. He whom neither men nor angels can grasp by knowledge can be embraced by love. For the intellect of both men and angels is to small to comprehend God as he is in himself.
Try to understand this point. Rational creatures such as men and angels possess two principal faculties, a knowing power and a loving power. No one can fully comprehend the uncreated God with his knowledge; but each one, in a different way, can grasp him fully through love. Truly this is the unending miracle of love: that one loving person. through his love, can embrace God, whose being fills and transcends the entire creation. And this marvelous work of love goes on forever, for he whom we love is eternal. Whoever has the grace to appreciate the truth of what I am saying, let him take my words to heart, for to experience this love is the joy of eternal life while to lose it is eternal torment.

Born to Serve the Lord

From the dust of the Earth
God created man
His breath made man a living soul
And for God so loved the world
He gave his only Son
And that is why I love Him so

I was made in His likeness
Created in His image
I was born to serve the Lord
And I can't deny Him
I'll always walk beside Him
I was born to serve the Lord

My hands were made to help my neighbor
My eyes were made to read God's word
My feet were made to walk in His footsteps
My body is the Temple of the Lord

I was made in His likeness
Created in His image
I was born to serve the Lord
And I can't deny Him
I'll always walk beside Him
For I was born to serve the Lord

Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for! fear.
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow'r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
"As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,"
This the pledge to me He made.

Help me then, in every tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith's sweet consolation,
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a father's hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till with Christ the Lord I stand

I've always loved that song, Anon @ 7:59...in fact, I was singing it just the other day. It's interesting to me how often that happens here...you must have some old school, Pentecostal roots to know that one...

Bish, Jack Holcomb sang that song on an album I had when I was in Bible College. It's one of those songs you live with.

Bishop,

Since the news of Pastor Ben's Church, I and many others know that God is going to do an even greater and better thing. But, I wanted to know how we can contribute to the need to rebuild. But could you put it on tomorrows blog so that or maybe it is already todays (yes it is already Wednesday). I do not have alot but would like to contribute and I know others will want to do the same.

What the natural sees as a tragedy or struggle God sees as an opportunity to bring others into unity and let his Glory Shine.

Have a peaceful evening for everyone. I speak Supernatural restoration in everyones sleep. That they wake refreshed and ready to meet the day the Lord has made for them. Love, Pamela

Ditto on the dove pic.

#3 - Genesis 1:2 - And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Gen. 1:26 - And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness and let them have dominion..."

#4 - Genesis 13:14 - And the Lord said to Abram after Lot had left, "Look up. In every direction, from where you're standing, I'm giving that to you. And your seed too; forever. Not only that, but I'll cause your seed to multiply so exponentially, not even a bazillion abacuses could record it!

C'mon. Get up. Walk with Me. Let's check it out. It's Mine, but I'll give it to you."

Abram: "For real? Uh... You're not gonna have a sudden impulse to like...dislocate my joints are You?"

God laughed and slapped His knee.

"Oy! With the kvetching! Nah, I'll save that for another day. Besides, every time you call Me, you receive your healing. Every time you call Me, Friend."

Abram: "True, that! Hollah challah!"

#5 - Eccl. 8:1 - Who's like a wise man? Who knows the interpretation? A man's wisdom makes his face shine so that it will be prominently altered.
