Grace Teaches Us:

To lean on Your arm,
And I’m LEANING.

To trust in Your love,
And I’m TRUSTING.

To call on Your name,
And I’m CALLING.

I’m stepping out
On Your Word.

Today, I will see circumstances as they are without minimizing or exaggerating.

The entrance of Your words gives me light. (Psalm119:130)
Careful meditation on the Scriptures makes a closer walk with the Savior.

I LOVE JESUS!
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO FOR ME.

Good Morning Holy Spirit !

Hey everyone. Kim Clement is having another sit down on his website tonight, live at 6 o'clock called God's Plan For America. I'm assuming that's eastern time, not 4 sure though.

Hey, I guess a true prophet would give the word the night before the election not afterwards. Should be encouraging. Kim sees the true goodness of God and His sovereign workings in the Earth accomplishing His will and purpose.

I think my heart rate is back down to about 500 beats per minute now. I woke up this morning and it was already light outside so I figured I had overslept. This time change stuff is conflusterating.
I understand the "lose your tax exempt status" thing if you endorse a certain political candidate, but is it just me or has anybody else noticed how the religious broadcasters have seemingly mastered the art of endorsing a candidate without really endorsing a candidate?
I was flipping through the channels last night when I came across INSP and noticed the name of a show that I used to watch regularly. I decided that I would check it out for a bit and see what kind of "stuff" he was trying to stir up.
He had some big wheel over the religious broadcasters on his show who was saying that if this election doesn't go a certain way (if all the evangelicals don't get out and vote their convictions, hint, hint) that we run the risk of having our right to broadcast the gospel stripped away.
He even made the comment that if this election doesn't go the way that he believes that it should go that the gospel will ultimately be the thing that suffers the most.
I thought, man, your paycheck may suffer because you obviously don't know how to make it unless you're broadcasting "religous" stuff on TV, but the gospel is not going to suffer.
Anyway, it is so amazing to watch religious people, who are supposed to be the most resilient folks on the planet, talk about how the gospel will suffer based on how an election turns out.
I kept telling the guy, although I know that he couldn't hear me, that God is not the least bit worried about His message being hindered because of an election. Can you imagine God commissioning his angels to go snatch up one candidate's political signs out of the median and off telephone poles and posting the other candidate's signs because he is worried about this?
For crying out loud!

Ten Considerations Before You Vote

“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, people groans.” (Proverbs 29:2)

How are you going to vote? What is going to be the determining factor for the one you choose to be the next president of the United States of Americas?

America is at the crossroads. In the next four years our leaders will have to make some tremendous decisions for our nation. Who is the man that you want to lead into the future?
Who is the man that will come closet to what the Word of God says? I would like to propose to each and every one of you ten things you need to consider when you to the polls. The president of the United States of America is going to lead us through some perilous decisions. Pray about your decision, and be sure you GET OUT and Vote!

1. Character – integrity, values, wisdom.

2. Voting Record – choices with respect to biblical issues.

3. Promises – following through on promises: men of their word.

4. Experience – good and solid reputation.

5. Humility – before God and man.

6. Sacrifice – doing right no matter the cost.

7. Respect – to authority, opposition, even enemies.

8. Popularity – resisting superficial popularity judgments heard media commentaries.

9. Principles – consistency, no compromise of biblical principles.

10. Accountability – God judges our votes (choices) in this life and the next.

If God doesn’t give us what we ask or desire for, you and I can be sure that He has something far better.

God Bless You All Today and Stay Prayer Up!
Love You All

Other than a high pressure altar call at the end of the service that was aimed at getting a "decision to follow Christ" from my two nephews who were in a weak emotional state, the service went very good.
I wrote a eulogy for him that I was amazingly able to get through. I shouldn't say that because Dr. Lovelace told me that I would get through it without any problems, and he was right.
My hero was then laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

karl cobos said...

Bishop,
Thanks so much for the word last night about Jesus Christ the head and about the body of Christ. I too believe there is a lot more revealing and understanding of that parallel with the body and things in the Spirit.

What's floating in my thoughts right now is Jesus, THE BRAIN, being command central.

If I want my big toe to move I just send out the message for it to move, and it fires down all the nerve pathways like lightning to make it do the job I want it to do.

Could that energy(electricity) be similar to how the Holy Spirit works in all of us as His body? The pathways are already there for Him to work through.

Our whole body needs blood, water, and that electrical spark in our heart, and a life-giving spirit.

The body of Christ needs spiritual exercise to keep it healthy, to keep the blood moving and circulating.ie-praying, singing, fellowship.

The air we breathe comes from whatever our atmosphere is...still pondering this one.

We have to keep our members moving and utilize them or else they will atrophy, possibly becoming sick and disabled, and God forbid, amputated and thrown away! Artificial members can be of great help, but generally not quite the same.

Food for thought.

The presence of the Lord by Byron Cage was playing as I came into the blog today.

I had the opportunity to serve him several times when I worked at Chicken and Waffles at Stonecrest.

He and those with him were always very pleasant and he always left a very nice tip!

Speaking of work, please pray for my wife Natasha who will be leaving Macy's this Friday. She is trying to be calm but having difficulties. We are praying for the Lord to make good connections for her and just the right doors to open for using her gifts in foreign language instruction (French, Spanish, Latin) and whatever else God sees as is best. Thank you all.

I hope to be on the computer again in a few days.

Bishop, just adding my agreement for safe, fun and productive travel for you and dad.

Speaking of fun, while you were praying over people yesterday, thoughts were going through my head about playing or splashing in the fountain of the Lord, so I was praying that the Lord would make us child-like and open enough to splash in His fountain.

Others probably will get wet when we do that, too.

Don't know why but I kept feeling compelled almost to go left into circles while we were praising, maybe the thoughts being going AROUND the fountain while standing in it!?

A great day to you and everyone here. What a beautiful day outside, too.

Bloggity blog blog blog. Yesterday at CITN was definitely an ITB movement. At one point I felt something so powerful that I looked around to ask somebody, "Did you feel that?". Then I realized that everyone around me was too far gone to answer. Then again, maybe I was just caught up. Whichever way it was, I was overjoyed and actively peaceful. Bish, you were on point. Curtis and his team was magnificent and anointed. Pastor Jimmy and the Praise Team! That horn player!! I tell you, CITN was not on earth Sunday.

Hard to miss the pic and color change...even on the small screen. All day I've been trying to remember the song that we sing when I sense a picture in my spirit that is similar to this one (though from a different angle), but I've not been able to bring it to mind.

Anyway, the view I sense is from a hilltop overlooking the city below. It's always nighttime with the city lights and the sense of darkness, but the hilltop has the throne of God on it where we all are during the song.

As we sang the song yesterday, it was as if some "day"light [as I said, similar to today's] was beginning to "remove" the darkness. I've sensed the other darkness scene so often it was surprising to sense the encroaching daylight one...and then to see your new pic...well, hmmm.

Even now, I'm feeling like "yeah, right, whatever, Avatar." And frankly, if you had not said "I don't think anyone else noticed" I guess I'd have never brought it up here. But you did, so I did. The point? I noticed the pic, yep, I noticed.

I'm always amazed at our existence in God's parabolic world...

"It is with great sadness that we announce that our grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died peacefully after a battle with cancer," Obama said in a joint statement with his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng. "She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength and humility."

Dunham, 86, helped raise Obama from the age of 10 while his mother was working in Indonesia, and Obama took an emotional 22-hour trip to Hawaii to visit her on October 23 and 24.

Dunham had followed Obama's presidential bid with great interest, and her death comes one day before U.S. voters will render their verdict in the race between Obama and Republican

Obama affectionately called her "Toot" -- short for "tutu," the Hawaiian word for grandmother -- and frequently spoke of her on the campaign trail.

I just wanted to touch base with everyone on this Monday evening (I should be doing homework for one of my classes). Bishop, I love the photo of the Atlanta skyline, it matches up with some of the bigger cities if you ask me. I also wanted to thank you for the prayer you lifted up over the election. A friend of mine who teaches in Henry County received an e-mail from his principal about the concerns some of the parents had about possible violence that might occur after the election, and many parents were keeping their kids out of school.I myself had concerns about it at my school. So, I ask all of you to continue to pray, and send up a special prayer for the schools. Amor y besos a todos

Yes, yesterday's service was God!
God has been giving me little flip- sides of scriptures I "know", showing me a different side of the same coin.
During the morning service yesterday, I believe Bishop said, "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto Me." I had always thought of that in terms of evangelism, lifting up His name in the presence of others. But the Lord showed me that if I LIFT HIM UP, He DRAWS ME TO HIM, so it becomes a worship scripture!! God INHABITS our praises! Thought that was so cool...just a little thing, but SHOUTS at you!

The other that I have shared with several folks is the scripture in John 14:15: "If you love Me, you will obey what I command." I used to think of this in terms of the negative, "If you DON'T obey my commands, you DON"T love Me."
What I believe the Lord is trying to tell us is that when we LOVE HIM, we WILL obey His commands; so that the loving of God becomes the answer to obeying, because He says, If you love Me...and we DO, then obedience will be the natural offshoot of this love. Kinda puts the priority back on love rather than "commandment obeying"! Ya feelin' me?? Mary, not Martha so much.
God is SOOO GOOD!!

Love & kindness,

Larry

The Lord absolutely "pulled" me out of my seat yesterday to go pray for someone at the altar. WASHINGTON (AP) - Election watchers won't have to wait for polls to close in the West to know how things are going. The first clues will come early, when voting ends in Georgia, Indiana and Virginia. If Democrat Barack Obama wins any of the three, he could be on his way.

If Republican John McCain sweeps them, he could be headed for a comeback. And if any of these three are too close to call quickly, that could indicate a long night ahead - and, perhaps, a squeaker of a result.
