Hey Everyone,
I have been blurking...I didn't think it would ever happen to me...me a blurker, I mean...my mind goes back to my saying something about all you blurkers out there need...... ahuh! now look at me, watch what you say...

I have been very busy though and I have enjoyed reading the post. I especially liked the note the other day. "it will be OK in the end,...if its not OK its not the end" quite a lot of comfort in that little collection of words and wisdom.

I will try my best to get back more often and check out the other blogs.

how do I find the streaming faith devotionals? I would like to read yours Bishop J.

my word ver. is "obsolate" that almost sounds like obsolete...I hope not, no, I know no not, no, I know I'm not. ok I got it right that time. Papa, Sarayu, and Jesus are probably laughing right now....I think they get a kick out of messin with me with these verification words...

Peace,
Dennis

IF there were to be a covering of fluffy, cold, white stuff on Sunday, what is the protocol for being ITB? Would it be on the local news channels?

Bishop,

Can you imagine how hard I'm giggling (okay.....laughing out loud seriously) reading those last two posts asking and your response to "white stuff"...........wanna come over to MY house?

Loved it.....how different things are with people in different states.......of geography and
mind. Awesome to ponder.

Donald...
HA
Never one to disappoint. I laughed out loud so, that my 9 year old daughter came running and asked what was happening !

Sunshine on a rainy/snowy mix day!

Is that what kind of weather y'all are having?
It's like 70 degrees here and hardly no clouds in the sky.
I was thinking about taking the scooter out for a spin since it's so nice today.

Anonymous said...

Donald,
Yeah, I was thinking about taking the riding lawn mower out today, too, but WAIT.......it's frozen to the ground where winter snuck up on us before it got to the garage~
and it doesn't cut through the snow so well, anyway! IF there's any grass like stuff showing, it's flat and hard and needs no cutting either.

So you enjoy that scooter ride...and I'll stay warm inside today. But thanks for sharing ! ha

Peace,
NL

I tried to comment on the "A word for winners" blog, but when I tried to submit the comment, the wordver thingy would just show "Loading..." and would never allow me to go any farther.

I hear you Dennis.

I've been checking your stuff out on YouTube.

Good!

Donald, the blogspot blogs have been acting strange lately, but
AW4W seems to be working now...

Bishop Jim Swilley said...

And P. Dennis, just go to www.streamingfaith.com and click on My Community...a drop-down menu will appear with "Devotionals" on there...click on that and you'll see it (it will be up at midnight)...

The last time I had something on there I asked the bloggers to go there and make a comment, but only 2 people did (JB, that's why I'm so far down the list, in answer to your comment the other day)...Anyway, I don't know if people are on here on Saturday, so I don't know if anyone will acknowledge it tomorrow or not...we'll see...

Donald said...

I will check it (Streaming Faith)out this time Bishop.
I didn't check it the last time on the day that you had it posted, but I went to the archives and found it, but was running about 90 to nothing at the time and didn't really have time to comment.
I guess it's times like that when the thought really doesn't count.

Bishop Jim Swilley said...

Thanks, Donald...it's all good...

BTW, bloggers...may not get MITN XIII posted tonight...been out all day...got a lot going on, not the least of which is my house is in the middle of movie set (a movie in the "Halloween" series)...we couldn't even get into our driveway tonight until they finished shooting a scene...

Thanks Donald, Its been a while since I put any new video up. I need to do a few more now and then. I get a lot of positive feedback from those videos (some negative) It is hard though, for me to sit down and talk to just a camera with no people. The camera doesnt bother me, no people does - very diffent than speaking to a group or church.

Thanks Bishop for the info about streamng faith; I will check it out.

Peace,
Dennis

Well, I do have a few verses done...I'll post it all together when I finish the chapter:

1. On the same day Jesus went down to the beach and simply sat by the water to meditate in solitude.

2. But when the people saw that it was Him, they began to gather around Him in such great numbers that He got into a boat and remained sitting there, while the huge crowd stood on the shore.

3. And so He began to teach by telling them many things in didactic allegories or parables, saying, “A sower went out to sow.

4. And as he sowed, some of his seed fell by the side of the road, and the birds came and ate them up.

5. Still other seeds fell on rocky ground, where the soil was so shallow that it was virtually nonexistent; and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil.

6. But when the sun rose, they were scorched, and because they had no root system to nourish and anchor them, they just dried up and withered away.

7. And other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and suffocated them.

8. But other seeds fell on good soil, and yielded healthy grain. Some produced a hundred times as much as was sown, some sixty times as much, and some thirty.

9. He who has spiritual ears, let him listen and let him perceive, discern and comprehend by spiritual hearing.

10. After the conclusion of this teaching, His disciples came to Him and asked, “Why do You speak to them by telling these stories?”

11. And He replied to them, I have unveiled the secrets of the Kingdom of/from the heavens to you first, but not to others yet.

Hey friends,

Last Sunday at Paradox, Nate taught a sermon called, "What the hell?". As much as you may have studied and researched this topic, their is something here for you that you have never heard before. An awesome word filled with revelation, rich context, and relevant first century history!

theparadoxchurch.org/podcast.xml

Pastor Dennis, you'll really like this. Hey there, by the way!

Son of Zadok said...

It also makes for good drama. This is what it sounded like when the truth on this subject was taught for the first time to a group of believers.

Donald said...

I'll read what you have posted in the morning for Mark.
I'm tired right now.
I just got back from doing some major sinning. Can you say "ham and cheese omelet plate scattered and smothered?"
While we were at the world-reknowned Waffle House someone started playing country music on the jukebox.
I told Her Majesty that one of my fantasies was to walk over to a jukebox one day when somebody put that twangy crap on and just pull the machine away from the wall and unplug it and go sit back down like I was bad.
She told me that I had better eat some more Wheaties, whatever that is supposed to mean. Maybe that correlates with the five pound dumbbells.
Who knows.
Later.

Son of Zadok said...

One other thing. If you don't have the time to listen to this let me share one thing from it that is mentioned early on that is sticking with me. Nate says up front that he is to be teaching about something today which you may not believe. He then states that what you believe may not be what I believe. But rather than change what you believe, I'd rather help change what you care about. What you care about is more important than what you believe.

That's the spirit!

Donald, if you keep at it, someday you may be able to leg press like Pat Robertson!

Hey, I don't know what's up, but my devotional isn't on Streaming Faith for today for some reason...so...never mind...

Larry Usher said...

Good late evening.

Listening to the rain tap down upon my skylight in the master bath...love that sound. I am thankful for my home and for all that God has blessed me with. Drove down to GSU to pick up my daughter this afternoon & we went to eat at EL Azteca which is our Mexican restaurant of choice in that area. Really would have liked to go see Jared & the band at Little Five Points but right now not a prudent use of funds. But we drove around for a while looking at some of the older homes, some of which I have seen filming at when I frequented the area when my daughter lived in Cabbage Town. Hung out in her dorm for a while watching movie outtakes and skits online. We howled at some of them!

Just when it seems the cupboard is bare, some guy comes in & asks me to make him some cakes out of my last little bit of flour & oil. I figure, what the heck, I've got nothing to lose...when all of a sudden...

Hi Bishop!

Kung Fu Waffle House jukebox crap kicker outer,

You ever went up against a punching, kicking, biting, scratching, hair pulling, eye poking woman who just had her favorite country song cut short because somebody kicked the crap out of her jukebox?

I don't believe you could eat enough wheaties.

Donald said...

Good point Anon@7:26.

We'll just let the music keep on playing.

Things that stood out in my spirit.

"Me too," PDennis. I've been a blurker a couple of days...sensing a transition and watching to listen. And, "me too," the lines you picked out of MITN stood out to me. I also enjoyed the expanded verse 9..."comprehend by spiritual hearing."

Maybe its the place I'm in right now, but these MITN verses seem to highlight the fisherman side of Jesus. His people are pulling on him so he provides...but in a way that lures the spiritual listeners. And His answer intrigues the disciples that He is guiding to become fishers of men.

P.Jimmie, peace is with you...it shows...and I join those who are grateful for your expression of the gift your Grandmother left for you. Looking forward to hearing the new sound that will be in your voice for Worship.
