"Then He Opened Their Minds..."

Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

The location of Emmaus isn't clear. The name Emmaus may be derived from the Hebrew word hammat, "hot spring." Luke places it about 60 stadia from Jerusalem. At about 607 English feet or 192 meters per stadion, this makes the distance about seven miles.

Hot Spring - Wikipedia

A hot spring is a spring that is produced by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater from the Earth's crust. There are hot springs all over the earth, on every continent and even under the oceans and seas.

The water issuing from a hot spring is heated by geothermal heat, i.e., heat from the Earth's interior. In general, the temperature of rocks within the earth increases with depth. The rate of temperature increase with depth is known as the geothermal gradient. If water percolates deeply enough into the crust, it will be heated as it comes into contact with hot rocks. The water from hot springs in non-volcanic areas is heated in this manner.
Steam Crepuscular rays at Mammoth Hot Springs

In active volcanic zones such as Yellowstone National Park, water may be heated by coming into contact with magma (molten rock). The high temperature gradient near magma may cause water to be heated enough that it boils or becomes superheated. If the water becomes so hot that it builds steam pressure and erupts in a jet above the surface of the Earth, it is called a geyser. If the water only reaches the surface in the form of steam, it is called a fumarole. If the water is mixed with mud and clay, it is called a mud pot.

Note that hot springs in volcanic areas are often at or near the boiling point. People have been seriously burned and even killed by accidentally or intentionally entering these springs.

Warm springs are sometimes the result of hot and cold springs mixing but may also occur outside of volcanic areas, such as Warm Springs, Georgia (frequented for its therapeutic effects by paraplegic U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who built the Little White House there).

This is especially interesting

Because heated water can hold more dissolved solids, warm and especially hot springs also often have a very high mineral content, containing everything from simple calcium to lithium, and even radium. Because of both the folklore and the claimed medical value some of these springs have, they are often popular tourist destinations, and locations for rehabilitation clinics for those with disabilities.

Loved the word tonight. Here are some quotes about having an open mind.

"Where their is an open mind, their will always be a frontier."

- Charles Kettering

"The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind."

- Philipus Aureolus Paracelsus

"Tact is the ability to tell a man he has an open mind when he has a hole in his head"

That's a funny one

"The world is full of people who have never, since childhood, met an open doorway with an open mind"

-E.B. White

“Always keep an open mind and a compassionate heart.”

-Phil Jackson

"Above all, remember that the most important thing you can take anywhere is not a Gucci bag or French-cut jeans; it's an open mind"

-Gail Rubin Bereny

Thanks to my mom's southern inflection (pronounced "suthun' inflaketion" by her)on words, I am able to unravel the mystery of the true meaning of the word Emmaus.
It means in a state of disarray, messy, cluttered, or in need of fixin'.
As an example, many times I have heard her say, "Son you need to get in your room and clean it up because it is simply emmaus."
But seriously, the word tonight was indescribable.

It seems that when you look past your own understanding you open your mind. Revelation comes to those who free the stuff man has said and listens to everyones opinion of what the Father is saying through them.

Eph 1:

17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places...

"A Whole New World" lyrics from Aladdin

I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming

A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
Now I'm in a whole new world with you

Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky

A whole new world
Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath - it gets better
I'm like a shooting star
I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be

A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you

A whole new world
That's where we'll be
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
For you and me

So appropriate after tonight's teaching!

"Tapping into the exciting, marvelous side of the Lord." (What is going to happen next!!!)

word ver "Aurazatr"- just sounds spooky cool!

Bro Lar,

Love the lyrics.. Yes !

It is wondrous! Shining and shimmering, s it has always been – The World. Or heart decides each moment, our eyes have long been open, We see each wonder and wonder.

It is real, the fantastic point of view. Dazzling, crystal clear and completely believeable – We Only Believe !!!!!!

We describe each of the million times a million things We see, ad Allah (God, Elohim) receives and enjoys ALL that We describe in our thoughts, emotions, experiences. Elohim thrives on it. We are the heartbeat of G-d in this reality. The Word is flesh in each of us.

Our minds are open, receiving and transmitting – God smiles.

We are marvelous, God, S/He says so and We add our agreement!!! Amen !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Bishop for bringing the word.

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart, I want to see you, yes I want to see you.

Why are you troubled? Why do doubts rise up in your mind?
We should know and be so assured of His word.

Holy Spirit, we say "yes" to change and new ideas!

The Evangel (sounds like a good title for a movie, maybe?...hey, "have you seen the Evangel?, it's really good!)

Interesting thought about when you said "addiction to deliverance".

Jesus broke bread (His flesh) on the cross and the one whose mind was opened was the centurion who exclaimed, "truly this must be the(a) Son of God!"

Well, up quite late..."oh, snap!"
Wife Natasha needs prayer agreement for ENT doctor consultation tomorrow (2pm)to go well and be productive towards pain relief and gettig to the bottom of sinus/head pains/dizziness, and provision for possible tests if called for. Thanks guys!
Night blogger friends.

Oh, forgot to mention that the word Emmaus and Damascus both end in "us"

Just thinking about last night yes the Bible is a series of books. My mother use to let every survey person who asked her what books do you read? Her responce was Matthew, Mark, Luke,John etc.
Strange survey people use to hang up quick.

Answered cares from Sunday? Yes! And, as predicted, not quite in the way I expected...but it's good. Since most of the things I spoke and cast on Him are very close to my heart that's all I want to share, but the speed of the answer was noteworthy. I also spoke with two others who said the same thing...got answers, but too personal to share details. Thank you, Bishop, for putting us in touch with God's heart for the things that we care about most.

River @11:24pm...Yes. Amen.

Karl, cool connection.

SOZ, interesting research. So it could be, after a huge disappointment and the loss of what they "saw" as the future, the disciples were on their way to the spa...a place to be healed...life goes on, moving forward. And it was there that they were joined by The Healer in His new form.

I like knowing that they invited this stranger who "knew nothing" of all that had been going on in the region to continue to stay with them.

hey SOZ, looks like you are online.

Yea I'm around here Erik. Listening to some tracks off Pitchfork and having a nice evening all around.

Hey to you to Avatar. It's very interesting when you start to look at what minerals are exactly as far as the patterns in them and what makes them different from rocks.

Wiki stuff about the arrangement of minerals.

A crystal structure is the orderly geometric spatial arrangement of atoms in the internal structure of a mineral. There are 14 basic crystal lattice arrangements of atoms in three dimensions, and these are referred to as the 14 "Bravais lattices". Each of these lattices can be classified into one of the seven crystal systems, and all crystal structures currently recognized fit in one Bravais lattice and one crystal system.

Somethings we'll never see the full order of until we're on the other side. But it takes no time to do research nowadays with the internet though does it, it's so awesome.

We are fractals of The Creator --

Fractals -- A fractal is generally "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole,"[1] a property called self-similarity. Roots of mathematical interest on fractals can be traced back to the late 19th Century, the term however was coined by BenoƮt Mandelbrot in 1975 and was derived from the Latin fractus meaning "broken" or "fractured." A mathematical fractal is based on an equation that undergoes iteration, a form of feedback based on recursion.[2]

________________

Natural and evident everywhere, but not easily described by tradition
___________________
A fractal often has the following features:[3]

* It has a fine structure at arbitrarily small scales.
* It is too irregular to be easily described in traditional Euclidean geometric language.
* It is self-similar (at least approximately or stochastically).
* It has a Hausdorff dimension which is greater than its topological dimension (although this requirement is not met by space-filling curves such as the Hilbert curve).[4]
* It has a simple and recursive definition.

Because they appear similar at all levels of magnification, fractals are often considered to be infinitely complex (in informal terms). Natural objects that approximate fractals to a degree include clouds, mountain ranges, lightning bolts, coastlines, snow flakes, even various vegetables (cauliflower and broccoli).
_______________

- A straight line is not it.
_____________________

However, not all self-similar objects are fractals—for example, the real line (a straight Euclidean line) is formally self-similar but fails to have other fractal characteristics; for instance, it is regular enough to be described in Euclidean terms.

____________________________
-- Human software comes close, but,no cigar.
___________________________

Images of fractals can be created using fractal generating software. Images produced by such software are normally referred to as being fractals even if they do not have the above characteristics, as it is possible to zoom into a region of the image that does not exhibit any fractal properties.
