All Things Are Possible!

Hey bloggers,

I posted something else earlier, but it really wasn't what I wanted to say today. Let's try this, instead...

"What we already know is in the past. What we have yet to discover is the future. Always make your questions bigger than your answers, and you'll keep drawing yourself into a bigger future with new possibilities."
- Gary Ryan Blair

"Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible, and suddenly, you are doing the impossible."
- St. Francis of Assisi

"Dreams hold no boundaries when it comes to the possibilities that life brings..."
- Angelica

"When the heart is enlivened again, it feels like the sun coming out after a week of rainy days. There is hope in the heart that chases the clouds away. Hope is a higher heart frequency and as you begin to reconnect with your heart, hope is waiting to show you new possibilities and arrest the downward spiral of grief and loneliness. It becomes a matter of how soon you want the sun to shine. Listening to the still, small voice in your heart will make hope into a reality."
- Sara Paddison

"We all have possibilities we do not know about. We can do things we do not even dream we can do!"
- Dale Carnegie

"One of the saddest lines in the world is, 'Oh come now - be realistic.' The best parts of this world were not fashioned by those who were realistic. They were fashioned by those who dared to look hard at their wishes and gave them horses to ride."
- Richard Bolles

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."
- Walt Disney

Have an awesome day...

Ok..that was weird.(saw something, then went away) I know your working on the blog for today.(smile)

Just have had a busy day(yesterday). Finally, sitting at PC at 12:38am. Feel like I have missed alot.

Yesterday's blog, "Crown Him Lord of All." Glad your put all the verses to that. I only know the first and the last two.(probably, because when I was kid I didn't know when the song ended until they got to those verses.) All I can say, I want to remember all of them..so thanks for doing that.

Sunday's service (shhhh...that's how good it was; no words to describe.)

God sent it.
The Prophet delivered it.
And I believe it.

Rest easy,

Morning Bishop!

Burning the midnight oil!

I think this is my fave:

"One of the saddest lines in the world is, 'Oh come now - be realistic.' The best parts of this world were not fashioned by those who were realistic. They were fashioned by those who dared to look hard at their wishes and gave them horses to ride."
- Richard Bolles

"When I think of the possibilities as I set out on this great trek, this great exploration- not to view some spectacular mountain face or even the face of a beautiful woman or some stunning masterpiece- but to gaze full upon the face of my Lord- I am left without a word...only a swelling of hope and presence that denies description and leads me on despite all obstacles." -me

Find Me in These Fields

Find me in these fields alone,
Crusted with the salt of my ways,
Rinse me with the motion of sweet water,
The silky rush of Your cleansing stream.

I turn my face towards the sun
Too feel the heat and cool wind blow.
Reminding me as I touch your shoulder
Awakening me from some selfish dream.

I face the fog in the Autumn,
The midnight moon weaving her chain.
You trace me deep in this valley
Repeating a familiar refrain, forgive me.

When my heart turns cold and I chased the old
Standard lie, forgive me.
When my conscious calls me to leave it behind,
Well did I, forgive me.

Take me in I'll sit at Your feet,
Live to tell all You have done,
Could I find a rose in mid-December,
A sign of peace for those passing by.

I turn my eyes toward the Son,
And a vision of a world yet to be,
When hope will be awarded living substance
And Heaven kisses Earth in reply.

It’s 2:16 am… I am sitting under the stars… it is one of the most remarkable sights in the universe… Bishop… I tried to count… There are just to many… It is so beautiful… Then I gaze into the vastness of God I realize that there is nothing in my life that is impossible for Him…

There is a song that I just can’t help singing tonight… I know you know it… it is exactly where my heart is…

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Speaking of the impossible dream coming true, a headliner in the internet this morning read, Religious tolerance growing.

The article was about the beliefs of Americans as a response to questions in a survey.

One that stands out to me is that most Americans are Christian but believe that people of other religions also have access to eternal life through their own faith systems.

Peace in unity

Thank you so much for posting this blog. As an actor I have heard more than once that saddest statement "Oh come now-be realistic." It was nice to see the blog this morning full of inspirational words from individuals who did not listen to the nay sayers.

Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread.
Yes, All things ARE POSSIBLE

Wow!!!! Lord you are SHOWING me. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not come. I thank you Father for the miracles of yesterday.

In the last three months, I have seen your hand, by seeking your face.
Dear Lord,
I AM GUILTY of loosing sight of you, and your plan for me………….

I worried that the promises you gave me, some how had been forgotten. I worried about the pending eviction and becoming homeless again. The empty bank account, the uninsured auto, the bare cupboard, the unpaid bills, the pending appeals, having no gas in the car, the returning headaches from the tumor; the breaking /fracturing teeth, the new job start date, the school completion date, and why I was feeling so alone, when I really really need your help.

So I asked you to let me hear from you. Your word promised that you would be a PRESENT HELP IN MY TIME OF TROUBLE. ……. That I would not be forsaken, and that my children and grand children would be fed without having to plead for daily bread.

You reminded me that I was too caught up in the PROVISIONING, and I needed to be caught up in the PROVIDER. But still……..

I woke yesterday tormented by the prospect of being without substance for the day. I knew that the four (4) chapter exam on financial and transactional accounting would be here in less than twelve (12) hours. There would be tons of material to memorize, conceptualize and recant. 12 cost formulas, 6 decision analysis formulas, 45 vocabulary concepts………AND ENOUGH GAS TO GET TO TOWN AND BACK after I dipped in the penny jar.

4:00am and already, my day was OUT OF CONTROL because my thought life had embraced FEAR.
Then, as you always do…....... when you do…………. Just like you do………….. YOU SPOKE to me. FEAR NOT. I recalled Pastor Jimmy saying on Sunday, “God said….. Fear Not”
BE LIKE THE GRASS……. “what if the grass were always complaining about every season it endured?” (Sunday was a blast…. I am so happy it is helping me to make it through my life full of Monday’s,)
Rainey days and Mondays.... LOL

MY FAITHFULNESS DOES NOT WAIVER. Why does yours? I taught you to pray after this manner.

Our Father…..
Identify me and my relationship to and with you
Which art in heaven.
Understand that my wisdom is removed from your circumstance and is infinite, like I am.

Praise me for who I am. (MY NAME), Not just what I can do.
……… Give us this day (NOW) our daily bread. Yeah God,….. that’s the part I am having trouble with. I am overwhelmed and under encouraged, with all this critical junk. Biting just a little bit at a time is hard, when I don’t want to chew or swallow any of it and when all the demands on my life seem so dire and immediate.
THEN YOU GAVE ME THIS WORD.
Psalm 85:10
Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.

You love me and will always honor that love with faithfulness….. I AM NOT ALONE
You are holy in all your ways…. (Your instructions towards me are for good)… Knowing this in my head and heart should bring me peace.

Fast forward. I gave out of gas last night, in the natural, but not in the spirit and not before making it to the exam and scoring 98% plus extra credit.

A friend came after midnight with a gallon gas can to rescue me from the side of the road…….. I was not in front of New Birth. LOL

I survived yesterday and God brought manna….. Daily Bread….. I even lived to tell about it!

I am so encouraged by your words today as I need them for conformation. I am moving into a place of sun after the rainy days. I had thought I had missed a opportunity for work 3 months ago and out of the blue yesterday they called me and said it was just now open and was I still interested. Just NOW opened. For 3 months I had assumed it was gone because they never called back, but God had another plan. One I could not see, like the seed that never ends. It was just moved by the bird. Never let disapointment be a measure of where God is in your life. You just cant afford to. God is good.

Just what I needed to hear today "All Things Are Possible!"

Bish - oh my gosh! I love all of your paintings, but that one is my favorite!! For some reason it just grabs me! Scott bought a copy for my b-day and I can't wait to get it! Love, Love, Love... :)

I really like this quote:
"We all have possibilities we do not know about. We can do things we do not even dream we can do!"
- Dale Carnegie
It excites me to know that about myself!

Everyone have a wonderful day!

Gotta love that Walt Disney.

Who else would dream of dressing a rodent in white gloves, red shorts & over-sized, butterscotch oven mitts?

Even Solomon in all his glory wasn't arrayed like that.

From Pamela H - Since I am only on the internet at work I do not have a chance to blog as often as I would like but this morning I felt a need to - so I am putting down what is in my heart an encouragement for me that needs to be put down in words. I was even more encourage by your words this morning Bishop - I must be in the flow - I guess I need encouragement :) These words may or may not make sense to you but when the Holy Spirit prompts me to put words down I have to or I will have no peace.

Oh, Holy Spirit you are my light and I see your light. The darkness around me is only there so I can see your light - the darkness is my circumstances which is neither good nor bad. I can only see You, the mountain is high but I can climb it , I have to climb it for at the top is You. You are the light at the top of the mountain shining like a lighthouse with the beams coming down to show me the way up. I cannot look to the right or the left or look down for fear will overtake me. I have to look straight up for my very being, existence can only be satisfied by the light, by being in the light that shines down from the mountain. Only you my Lord can say who I am and only you can fulfill the desires of my heart - the desires that you put there. Thank you Lord for loving me and showing me your light so I can find my way to You up the mountain.

I CAN climb the mountain.

Hopefully this blesses everybody too - I just had to write it.

Love to all,
Pamela Holbrook

I'm heading for someplace that ain't in a dream. Heading where no one has ever been. With my heart full of fire. Want to be out on the edge.
Parts to Out On The Edge by John Fiore

All Things Are Possible
When you believe
Miracles can happen
Dreams become reality
The impossible becomes possible
Vision's become missions

Climbing the mountain that keeps getting higher to see what His face sees

All things are possible

The beauty of the earth
The splendor of His face
Can not compare to His Grace

Do the impossible
Be the dream
Go the distance
Climb the mountain
Live the possible

What an awesome painting. Of all that Bishop has done, that is probably my second favorite. “In Our Sight” still holds number one with me because I love equally the art and the message behind the art.

At the risk of sounding totally opportunistic - You all do know that Bishop painted the “Possibilities” painting at the top of today’s blog and that prints of it and several other pieces of his artwork are available to you in your choice of canvas or paper.

If you are part of the ITB congregation just see someone in the Media Center for details and if you are a part of our cyber congregation, everything is available on our website.

Whether verbal, written or painted, revelation and life continue to manifest from the outworking of what is inside of Bishop from the Holy Spirit!

When I meet people here at the office for any reason, I always drag them around and make them look at all of Bishop’s artwork. So, thanks for indulging me. God may have a word for you today out of one of Bishop’s pieces.

GOOD MORNING TO YOU ALL. I HAVE BEEN BUSY WITH DADDY AND MUMMY ROLE. MY HUSBAND IS STILL IN NIGERIA, WILL BE BACK 7/12.THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS.
I LIKE THE THEME OF THE BLOG TODAY BISHOP. IT WAS SO STRONG IN MY SPIRIT YESTERDAY. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. THAT IS THE REALM GOD WANTS HIS CHILDREN TO DWELL AND OPERATE FROM. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR ABILITIES BUT SOMETHING TO DO WITH GOD'S ABILITIES IN US. GOD DWELLS AND OPERATE FROM THAT REALM AND AS HIS CHILDREN WE OUGHT TO BE LIKE HIM.
WE CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH GOD WHO STRENGTHENS US.WHEN SARAH DOUBTED THE POSSIBILITY OF HER CONCEPTION AT THE AGE OF 90, GOD ASKED HER, [GENE 18;14,] 'IS ANYTHING TO HARD FOR THE LORD'. GOD WAS TRYING TO GET SARAH TO LOOK AT HIS ABILITIES AND NOT HERS. I HAVE BEEN TRAVELLING IN MY MIND LATELY ON THE PLANE OF ALL THINGS BEING POSSIBLE WITH GOD. ALL HUMAN BEING ARE CREATED IN GODS IMAGE [GEN 1 27] AND OUR ATTITUDE AND THINKING MUST REFLECT GOD. WHEN WE FAIL TO THINK LIKE GOD, IT DRAGS US DOWN TO THE REALM'S OF IMPOSSIBILTIES, BELOW OUR RICH HERITAGE. THIS IS A WORD FOR US BISHOP AND IT IS FILLING UP BY BELLY AS I WRITE. IT IS AN OVERWHELMING PROPHETIC WORDS THAT WILL SURELY GET US TO OUR PLACES OF DESTINY. OH MY GOD, MY STOMACH IS RUMBBLING AND I AM TRYING TO FOCUS MY THOUGHTS THAT IS ALL OVER. IN THIS REALM'S OF ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBL, FAITH IS THE VEHICLE OF TRANSPORTATION. THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH. IT IS NOW CLEAR WHY WE DO NOT OPERATE FROM THAT REALM. WE DO NOT HAVE THE TRANSPORTATION OF FAITH THAT WILL GET US THERE. GOD IS REAL AND HIS WORDS ARE TRUE. I HOPE I AM MAKING SENSE TO YOU ALL BECAUSE I AM WRITING FROM MY SPIRIT. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO THEM THAT BELEIVE. THE CRIPPLE MAN AT THE BEAUTIFUL GATE WAS BEGGING FOR ALMS FROM PEOPLE. HE DID NOT THINK IT WAS POSSIBLE FOR HIM TO EVER WALK UNTILL PETER AND JOHN OPERATED IN A REALM OF FAITH THAT BROUGHT HEALING TO THE MAN. ACTS 3 1-8. IMMEDIATELY, HE WAS WALKING, LEAPING AND PRAISING GOD, THE SOURCE OF ALL POSSIBLITIES. MIRACLE IS PART OF ALL THING BEING POSSIBLE AND SHOULD BE PART OF OUR EVERY DAY EXPERIENCE AS WE DWELL IN THE REALM'S OF POSSILITIES. IT IS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE ISOLATED EVENTS BUT PART OF OUR DAILY BENEFITS IN GOD.
IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THINGS WILL COME EASILY. HINDRANCES AND FRUSTRATIONS ARE PARTS OF THIS REALM'S OF ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.
THEY ARE THERE FOR A REASON AND SINCE GOD IS NOT LIMITED MY THEM, WE WILL NOT BE LIMITED.
THROUGH THE EYES OF FAITH WE WILL HAVE WHAT WE SEE AND POSSESS WHAT WE SPEAK.
PEOPLE OFTEN ASK ME HOW DO YOU RAISE SEVEN CHILDREN, THREE IN COLLEGE AT THE SAME TIME. MY RESPONSE HAS BEEN THAT I DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM THAT DAILY STRENGHTHENS ME. PEOPLE LIKE TO LIVE MY THEIR EMOTIONS. I TAKE MY CHILDREN AS A BLESSING FROM GOD AND HE KNOWS THAT I CAN HANDLE THEM AND HE HAD PREPARED ME BEFORE THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH TO RAISE THESE KIDS. THERE ARE CHALLENGS BUT GOD IS MY REFUGE AND STRENGTH, AN EVER PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE. PSALM 46;1.
FINALLY I CLOSE WITH A TESTIMONY TO THE FACT THAT ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. I SHARED THIS TESTIMONY AT FRIDAY AM PRAYER AT CITN. MY SECOND DAUGHTER SYLVIA 21YRS RAN OUT OF GAS ON MONDAY ON HER WAY TO SUMMER SCHOOL. HER CAR STOPPED AT WESLEY CHAPEL EXIT OFF 1 20 WEST. SHE CALLED ME AT 815 AM ON MY WAY BACK FROM MY 7P TO 7A SHIFT. I WAS GOING THROUGH 124 HWY TO FRDAY PRAYER AT 9AM IN THE CHURCH.
I WAS UPSET THAT SHE LET HER CAR RAN OUT OF GAS. MY HUSBAND IS OUT OF THE COUNTRY AND I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH CAR PROBLEMS AND I WANTED TO BE AT INTERCESSION TOO. I TOLD HER TO CALL 911 BECAUSE I HEARD THAT THEY GIVE GAS TO STRANDED PEOPLE ON THE ROAD.
MEANWHILE I WAS HEADING TO THE CHURCH. I CALL MY FIRST DAUGHTER CHIKA 22YRS TO TAKE HER BROTHER TO FOOTBALL GAME AT 9A AS I WILL NOT MAKE IT AND I TOLD HER WHAT HAPPENED TO HER SISTER. AT 845 I CHECKED WITH MY DAUGHTER TO SEE IF THE POLICE HAD COME. SHE SAID NO AND STARTED TO SOB. ALL OTHER DRIVERS WERE SCREAMING AT HER FOR BLOCKING TRAFFIC, POLICE WERE PASSING BY BUT NONE WAS STOPPING. I PRAYED FOR GOD TO SEND SOME HELP TO HER. POLICE TOLD HER TO STAY IN THE CAR AND OPEN THE HOOD. I WAS NOW AT STONE CREST MALL AT 124, I STUGGLE BETEEW GOING TO HER AND GOING TO INTERCESSORY. ONE MIND SAID, BY THE TIME I GET TO HER POLICE WILL COME, GO TO INTERSSORY PRAYER AND JUST BELEIVE THAT GOD WILL SEND HER HELP. I HEADED TO CHURCH, STUPID EH, NO PRAYER IS MY PASSION. I CALLED HER AGAIN AND POLICE HAS NOT COME, 855 AM. AS I WAS TELLING HER TO CALL AGAIN, SHE SHOUTED CHIKA IS HERE HER OLDER SISTER, I SAID DID SHE FLY FORM COVINGTON TO THERE.CHIKA WENT TO THE GAS STATION NEARBY AND GOT GAS IN A CAN. ON GETTING THERE NO ONE FROM THEIR CARS GOT OUT TO HELP EXCEPT A HOMELESS MAN WHO WAS PARADING IN THE AREA. ACCORDING TO MY DAUHTERS THE HOMELESS MAN HAS ALL THE TOOLS NEEDED IN HIS PANTS POCKET LIKE PAPER FUNNEL, TOOLS TO OPEN THE GAS TANK ETC. HE PUT THE GAS IN THE CAR AND THE CAR GOT STARTED. AT 906 AT INTERSSORY PRAYER, THEY CALLED ME THAT EVERY THING WAS OK. SYVIA WENT TO SCHOOL AND CHIKA, WHO BY THE WAY HAD JUST FINISHED HER FINAL EXAMS LAST WEEK IN GEORGIA STATE. SHE WILL MARCH IN DEC GRADUATING BOUBLE MAJOR, JOURNALISM AND ANTHROPOLOGY. SHE IS AT HOME RESTING AFTER THE GAS ORDEAL. WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE EVEN IF HE HAS TO USE A HOMELESS MAN OR ALLOW A DONKEY TO SPEAK. REACH OUT FOR ALL POSSIBLITIES BECAUSE BISHOP'S BLOG IS PROPHECTIC. I HOPE I MADE SENSE TO YOU WONDERFUL BLOG FAMILY AND BISHOP WITH YOUR DEEP KNOWLEGE.
LAURA YOU WILL FLOW IN THIS POSSILITIES WITH YOUR CAR SITUATION.
MUCH LOVE , MERCY.

Morning, all...

Getting a shamefully late start today, but feeling justified since sleep has been sketchy for the last 3 nights. Honestly, Bishop, how do you do it? Doesn't your tank (physical... :}) ever run on empty? Considering myself blessed this AM for having nowhere that I have to be!

Love today's post!
izumi/joy ;);), blowing kisses at the computer screen in thanks for
the whimsy (and having fun imagining Solomon arrayed like Mickey)! Blutimus ponderings...

Larry, you picked one of the 2 quotes that jumped out at me. In addition, I really like your personal quote... for some reason it brought the movie THE
BUCKET LIST to mind. Anybody see it? Great flick, and very touching.

Erik... cashews, chocolate & excellent red wine? Where are you... YUM CITY?!

The Gary Ryan Blair quote spoke to me today. Probably because I often view myself as an annoying child in need of a muzzle. You know... the one who asks "why?" over and over and over to infinity and beyond. The one whom you wish would go play with Barbie or Ken or a computer game or dinosaurs and just leave you the heck alone for awhile! But it's at my mind's overdrive point that I find myself inspired, and hence, motivated. This is what I'm hearing... ask and answer the questions now... the future is NOW... even though we don't know what it holds, we make our future now, moment by moment... so ask and answer.

And the Richard Bolles quote, "... 'Oh come now - be realistic.'..."
Pardon my candor, but let's face it... realism often sucks! The loss of hope nips the heels of loss of dreams, and without hope what do any of us have? I want my dreams riding the sturdiest, most gorgeous horses that I can imagine. Hhhmmmm... perhaps that's why I don't paint realistically anymore. The neat and tidy "pretty pictures" are all well and good, but (for me) it's the mystery, the fun of the impossible, that brings the meaning and joy to life!

Oh well... better go try to redeem some time today before I go off on tangents. Stayed up rather late hanging my "mysteries" back up on my walls. Have to say, I'm glad to have them back; my walls were looking very bare these last 3 weeks. Of course, I went off on artistic/decorative tangents last night rearranging furniture to accommodate the couple of new pieces :O (sigh)

Excellent day to you all!

Ok, I'm back.

~Bishop~ Your painting on the blog is my favorite one. I'll tell you I dream almost everynight since I was a little girl. Anyway, I have been having alot of dreams since Kim Clement..(of CITN)--all of them have been about the offering. Last night's dream(really early morning dream) was the most powerful one.

"Dreams hold no boundaries when it comes to the possibilites that life brings....
~Angelica~

Was just telling husband over the phone of my dream. He had to go; since he was at work and called me later. As I was thinking more of my dream. Thinking what happen first...I remember seeing "Produce"
I was in the store and someone needed help with the plu number on a "Green Apple." My husband called back, and I told him more about my dream. I'll just say...CITN was getting checks in those numbers!!
(4 & 5 digit checks) Pouring IN!!

I am so excited for things yet to come...

"For greater things are yet to come, and greater things are still to be done...In this city"

I can go on and on with my dream..Husband said to tell ya the "Highlights" from it. Even a friend told me,I should write a book about my dreams. So, I have been writing them down.

"The Harvest is Here, the Kingdom is Near...You Said...."

love the post today.. so weird that in all my devotional's and recent conversations the issue of trust in God and endless possibilities keeps coming up.. so cool Iris that you got to count the stars last night.. i cant wait to be back on campus and sleep outside on the greens where its truly dark and you can see the stars.. I defiantly have built up a lot of faith and I'm in a place where its not a chore at all to just believe in the impossible.. It my life I feel like a little girl again who was only concerned with her heavenly father and when she would return to his presence.. I remember when you said the reason you may revisit a time in your life is because there's more growth potential.. Finally instead of retreating to his presence i feel it here.. right inside of me its great.. I walk with my head high and my shoulders parallel to my brothers and sisters.. we are closer than Kin we are one.. all of us are apart of Gods being its great..I am so in love right now and wish that everyone felt this way.. deep down we do.. I think its great how ppl cant quite understand who you are when you in his presence they can never really size you up and it may frustrate them.. but this must stem from the fact that they know us and are simply confused by there own appearance.. i also conclude that to be for something you don't have to be against something else.. so i just put out what ever it is i think and whole heartedly believe without having an opposing argument. or caring.. with everything i do.. live and let live.. that was a word even this past sunday.. what's great is that I am to be in vermont this friday for a program ive been waitlisted for since may.. I dont even anticipate it anymore its become reality.. why not.. I know when God speaks... and I asked for God to do everything in my life.. And when you dedicate your self back to him you simply ride the wave.. so I have peace.. I started this summer off hearing from him that I was to have peace and now as its almost over(my summer) I get what God meant by that.. I am in such wonder of how massive God is.. everyday is like WOW! every moment and every breath..that was another thing about htis sunday that really touched me.. I know that being under the covering at home... I love that you give yourself to God bishop and really seek his face but more recently ive noticed that when i prepare for service and and constantly in conversation with him he speaks right through you and you "lose your train of thought" its so cool to see in service when you go I didint mean to talk about that for so long but such is life.. I love it when that happens..And it happens almost every sunday without fail.. God is so massive.. I havent really lifted a finger this summerand God has simply molded me broken me and resurfaced me at this awesome age of 18.. what's in store I cant wait!!.. I am stronger than ever... I find that words really capture nothing.. I was listening to some ppl speak a different language and it just sounded like they were mumbling.. i thought wow so odd how there communicating.. I love silence there's a strength to it.. cant wait for this evening with the street Jam girls.. what fun.. soon it will be wednesday and off we Go.. peace and love

Bishop Jim and my fellow bloggers,

I found it yet another odd incident of synchroneity that the last quote chosen for today, Walt Disney's quip, also appeared in a speech by one of my students on this very day. This was not just any student, mind you; this was the school valedictorian.

I was reminded of something you said, Bishop Jim, in the beginning of the Sunday service (just before the power went out on my block). You recalled Kim Clement's comment that there's "corn in Egypt," then referred to a number of seemingly connected incidents, including my participation in your online community and the now defunct ceasefire in Gaza.

I have to admit though, my dear brothers and sisters, I have always been leery of assigning significance to seeming coincidences, particularly within the confines of a substantiating community. Richard Dawkins, the Oxford biologist and Chair for the Public Understanding of Science, explains such happenings as "mass hallucination". Are we simply deluding ourselves or can we connect the dots of our broad and varied experiences like constellations in the heavens?

Years ago, when I was a student at GSU, I got to attend a lecture by the poet laureate of Georgia, David Bottoms. He said something then that has remained with me, as a writer and simply as someone trying to make sense of all this chaos. He said that a poet is kind of like a cryptologist who decodes the secret messages and meanings in the world around us.

I'll leave you with these two thoughts for today (random electrical impulses in my mind? I suppose all things are possible).

Salaam,

Abraham

Hello Bishop and friends,

keeping in touch...thinking of the impossible reminds me of the quotes Sunday from the IBM ceo in the 70's about why would people want computers in their homes!

...to think what CAN be done, what CAN be dreamed.

There are thousands upon thousands of things left to be invented, some are probably already floating around in our heads just needing connection with other believers and complimentary talents and knowledge. "Why not you, why not me?", I think should be one of our questions.
...so what else CAN be invented?

Shucks, gotta go already, but it's for something good.
God bless you all today and remember the word about RESTORATION from both prophet Kim Clement and June 23 AYITN!
It's not loss but gain because everything ultimately belongs to God anyway. You will have restoration...doubled.
_Karl

ok, I was getting ready to leave but I saw at the end the last part of what friend4life(L.W.) said about...
"the harvest is here, the kingdom is near" and had to tell you this;

I was flipping through stations when I first got in the car coming to the library and settled on the SAME SONG, k?
...You say your glory will fill the earth, like waters the sea.
You say the HARVEST IS HERE
YOUR KINGDOM IS NEAR.

Distant shores and islands will see your love.
..."how awesome I thought that was", and it made me think Bishop of when you said that someone on some island had been streaming the service, how cool.

There was a lady in the service who also said there are things the Father has in His hand right in front of us, to just take it.

...remembering also Chad's word about the kingdom being so REAL...like the radio waves, different rays/waves in the air all around us, they are real and they are there!...I was thinking like the AIR/OXYGEN itself goes in/out of us...the kingdom of heaven is as close to us as taking a breath, the Spirit's touch in "flicking the switch!" in us and finding ourselves in an illuminated room in the kingdom of heaven!
whew!

Bishop...just had to tell you this real quick.
My last post got in with 15 seconds to spare on the computer at the library and I was thinking, oh no, now I may have to wait a long time possibly before getting on another one, so I asked God for some help so I can work a little.
...went to the counter and the lady said, "well, you came at the right time, everybody else has been having to wait but you can get on #19 right away" Yeah God, thanks for favor and the reward of taking time to post something I thought was important.
Love ya', talk later.

I was kneeling in prayer, then prostrate before the Lord when I looked over and I saw a man that had fallen and was not able to pull himself up...

I'll be back for more later- heart is full!

WOW twice in one day I get to blog… This doesn’t happen very often… This mini vacation that I am on (without children…YEH!!!) has been a wonderful time to reflect on the Holy Spirit… The vastness of Him… His wonder… His artistry in nature… His presence… This has been absolutely a time to listen and absorb Him… And WAL-LA hence getting to blog a whole lot more than usual…

Master’smine – I have been there where you are, several times in my life… I have abased and I have abound… But I can testify… God has always brought me through… I have always had food… I have always had shelter… I have always had clothing… The food has not always been what my taste buds wanted at the time… or the shelter was not always a penthouse in the sky… I was not always dressed to the nines… But I can testify I have NEVER… EVER gone without…. He has sustained me… But more than just sustain He has been more than enough…

I lived in South Africa for 21/2 years… while I was there it was me and God… Do or die… There was no plan B… I had no one to call and be rescued… just me and God… One day I was sitting in my small flat… worshiping God… I only had eggs and a few slices of bread in my refrigerator… I cherished those few items… The would be my food for at least another week… maybe two…. But God had a different plan… there was a knock on the door, and a woman and some children stood there begging for food… I told them that I was sorry… all I had was enough food for me for a week or so, and closed the door… Well God told me to give my food to these people… God and I had an argument… we argued for quite some time…. But God won… so I took the remnants of my food and gave them to this family who were now blocks away…

The next day I was coming home from a visit to one of the townships in South Africa… I was hungry… I had no food at all… So I complained to the Lord… What are You going to do now… I guess I will just be hungry for 2 weeks…. (I am sure God was smiling… thinking that I would get over myself in a few minutes)…. I walked into my flat… went into the bathroom… (there was no need to go to the kitchen there was nothing in it… right?)… But to my amazement there was a gigantic roll of toilet paper next to the toilet… bath soaps and salts… shampoo… conditioner… on the tub… (I had to be in the wrong flat…right?) no I was in the right flat… and I had no idea how all of these things go there… Then I made my way to the kitchen… there was food… lots and lots of food… meats… can goods… refrigerator stocked full of food…. I lived off of that food for over 8 months… To this day I can tell you that I don’t know who God had put it all there for me…. But I know it was God…

On another occasion I saw my food multiply right in front of my eyes…. That is another story… I will save it for another day…

I said all of this because… God is our source… it doesn’t matter what it may look like now… Start to praise Him… Start to see it… Let the words of your mouth bring life to the things you want to live and death to the things that you want to die…. You have it all right in your mouth… He wants you to speak it out… proclaim it…. Sometimes when I can’t see it… or speak it I will just start to thank Him for what He has already done… Praise is God’s oxygen … He can work in praise… Start to see yourself living in abundance… start to live like you are living that abundance…. It works…. I can testify…and with every breath thank Him…. He lives in praise… He works in praise….

Dgm2007- Yes all things are possible… and when we look up and count the stars… we realize the sky is the limit or in reality the vastness of the galaxies still doesn’t limit us…

In closing off…I want to say that His praise is continually on my lips… His word and promises will always live in my heart…I will praise Him this day with a new song… He fills my life with great joy…For when I am weak… He is strong… when I’m poor… I know I am rich… For in the power of His name ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE…

Love you all…
Iris

Sahib,

I can’t help but think about the difference between dreaming and doing. Dreams are only as good as the work and sweat that one puts into them. I have a philosophy that utilizes this dictum of life, “work as hard on the things you dread as you work on the things you dream.” Without a dream, hard work is nothing. Without hard work, a dream is nothing. Kind of sums everything up for me.

There’s a great movie out now, not sure where it’s being circulated, but go see it if you have a chance. It’s called, “The Singing Revolution” and it chronicles Estonia’s rise to independence through the tyranny of two brutal empires. Free speech, free thought and the ability to do as one pleases are taken for granted here, but in the Baltic, they were as foreign as their oppressors. The underlying theme of the movie is, “some revolutions are about hate, others are about revenge, this one was about hope. Very inspiring to a nation that, I believe, is beginning to doubt itself and what it stands for in the world today.

By the way, Paul McCartney is credited in some circles for bringing down the Soviet empire with his music and influence when he sang to several hundred thousand in Moscow’s Red Square. I guess my folks were wrong.

All you really do need is love,

Ain’t God Good?

You certainly are a thinker and I like the way you think. I'm sure the random electrical impulses you called thought react with the subjective Mind of the Universe and create your reality as you see it. That's a good thing.
I think its alright to be leery of seemingly meaningful coincidences. A spiritual man/woman judges all things. The “corn in Egypt” thing…well, you would have had to have been there. We’ll see.
I've never read Dawkins. His book,” The God Delusion", hit the NY Times bestseller list for hardcover non-fiction. His credentials speak for themselves. I respect and respectfully reject his views. However, if a god other than the God of love and unity is who he is rejecting, I respectfully embrace his view. Sadly, I don't think that is the case, though.
I have no argument with his point on the mass hallucination thing. It's just a matter of semantics. It still implies a group of people are "seeing" the same thing; tangible or ethereal. When a group has the same vision, the impossible can be accomplished.
Peace in your region seems unattainable but I have hope when enough people choose to "see" we are all the same, transcending race, culture, or society, peace will evolve from mere "hallucination" to sheer "reality".
Let there be peace on Earth...

Dennis,
Hope is finding nothing for years and still checking back expecting a tree.
Love is seeing the tree growing on the other side of the road and finding a way to happy about it.
Faith and Hope again is still expecting a tree on this side of the road to be even better cos some bird MUST have brought one...and included the fertilizer---smile!"

Lindsey, I needed your comment to hear, really hear, Bishop's "all things are possible" today. Dennis, I needed yours to remind me how.

oooo, Iris, more reminders of how! Thanks!

Everyone else,
your comments fleshed it out. Thanks to y'all too. Durn, its way too easy to forget to DO!

ahhhh, elle--"asking why to infinity and beyond!" No wonder I love your art!

Today has been a reminder of the need I have for the whole Body. I don't think I forgot that, but I do love seeing it at work.

DBA, dreams=work and sweat [my paraphrase] I'm grabbing onto Kim C's word "no effort, no labor" the works already been done and "Now is the time to just speak to the rock!"

Abraham. sigh. We'll keep speaking peace on this side of the planet--I'm assuming you will too. Rejecting what we see. Walking by faith.

On Coincidence(mass hysteria) vs. providence. I like to accentuate "Meaninful" in meaningful coincidence.

Reminds me of a Bishop story about going to get milk and people who see him in the store believing he's a sign to them. Quote as I remember it: "I'M NOT A SIGN! I'm just buying milk!"

And yet there have been things in all of our lives that are just too unlikely to be explained as mass hysteria. God uses so many ways to communicate that I'll make a decision on a different route in the car for just one. I won't invest the farm on one coincidence, but more than one and my ears and eyes are peeled for the next, which in my experience, will be as a whisper and include some sort of small obedience--dip yourself in the Jordan, call somebody, say something.

One more thing I love about CITN is you can practice those small obediences without being called a "fool" and forgiven if you didn't quite hear right.

Re: corn in Egypt. Whatever it ends up being, we'll all know it was pre-spoken when it happens.

When we assume the position of submission to God, we are shown those who are in need. It was as if I saw a man next to me while lying prostrate before the Lord who could hardly even move and the Lord said it is only because of humbling yourself that you are able to see this man's dilemma.

Cornucopia

cor·nu·co·pi·a 1. Classical Mythology. a horn containing food, drink, etc., in ENDLESS SUPPLY, said to have been a horn of the goat Amalthaea.
2. a representation of this horn, used as a symbol of ABUNDANCE.
3. an ABUNDANT, OVERFLOWING SUPPLY!!!

"Cornality"- the condition or ability to see abundance where apparently there is none.

"Corn Dog"- an individual who flaunts their abundance

"Cornelle"- Any wealthy person with the name "Elle"

Ooops! Got a little frittered there.

Peacemaker,

On the topic of poets and prophets, the universal mind you speak of is something akin to Yeats' spiritus mundi and reminds me of one of his most prophetic poems, "The Second Coming." In this brief but baffling poem, Yeats seems to have foreseen the source of the new millenium's most significant conflict.

THE SECOND COMING

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

-W.B. Yeats

On Richard Dawkins, I've spent much time reading his work. The God Delusion rejects the god of the old testament, a supreme, vengeful, murderous personality. He stops short of saying that god is not a possibility. Again, all things are possible. What I gleaned from his writing, I suppose, is that we must never stop questioning. Our explanations of our origins are as numerous and varied as we are, and unless we continue to question these explanations, we are deluding ourselves in thinking we've reached the definitive truth.

Peace be with you,

Abraham

Abraham,

Thank you for your post to explain Dawkins. It is always pleasant to hear the expressions of a truth seeker and no doubt Peacemaker and most all that are on this blog including Bishop will agree with that.

I am mostly self educated beyond High School since 1971 and have found that in seeking greater knowledge of the truth that my mind has come to enjoy the thoughts of others better than its own. However there are some vivid kinds of ideas that come to me from time to time through random firings. I was once afraid of those but have come to accept them as forms of communication from beyond conscious reason. It does not matter to me if they are mystical or natural in origin because their message is relevent to what is satisfying to me.

There is much to say about the idea of being from God. The idea that intrigues me the most is that of aquiring God. There is no pretense on my part to believe that I am anything more than any other person but it is coming into my focus that all humanity is an intrigal part of what ever God is.

I do not believe that we have invented God but there does seem to be much latitude given by the Omnipotent for us to describe God.

I too reject the God of vengence and hatred. For me if God is not Love then there is no God. My greatest conflict then is why have not more people come to understand the need for Love in their lives.

All I can do about it beyond praying is to join in with others who are proclaiming the benefits of allowing Love to rule their world and put my money where my mouth is in support of others who are willing to go to the world with their talents and effectively carry that message to the suffering.

Abraham, you are an awesome addition to this community.

Peace in unity

Johnny

Similar to "spiritus mundi" is Ernest Holmes: "Science of Mind".
There, Holmes posits a "universal Mind" that is subjective and operates according to certain immutable laws regarding the universe proper and man's interaction with it.
The similarity I see is Yeats, writing of the "spiritus mundi", as well as Holmes, writing of the "subjective Mind" view the mind of man and the universe as intrinsically connected.
The difference is in the context in which they are written. Yeats sees it as manifesting a "sphinx-like" beast representing change by means of dark imagery. Whereas Holmes uses imagery of hope and light from the universe to bring about change in the realm of humanity. But, both represent change.
My reference of the universal Mind slants more to Holmes view, though I do find Yeats' imagery compelling.
It seems as if Yeats foresaw something coming that could possibly succeed Christianity as he experienced it in his day. That concept is not foreign to certain writers of our time. Bishop John Shelby Spong and Dr. Miceal Ledwith are but a couple of examples.

On Dawkins, one word...agreed.
